A lot of people say that they are happiest when they are in bed. Well, it figures, as that is where they are warm and relaxed, and they get to sleep. Mattress

One of the most vital things in making your bed a gorgeous sanctuary is having the right mattress. In fact, the right mattress can work wonders for you. This is because not only will you feel more comfortable when you are in bed, but it can also improve the quality your sleep as well. That’s right, having the wrong mattress can actually interrupt your sleep. This is because you are more likely to toss and turn all night because your body isn’t being supported in the way that it should be.

That is why it is important to get the right mattress firmness for the position that you sleep in. For example, those people that sleep on their backs find that they are ok with the softest types of mattress. This is because there is a large surface area, of the body touching the bed, while they are asleep. So less stress in place on their joints.

However, for those that sleep on their stomach, it is the opposite. They actually need a very firm mattress. This is because the surface of the bed is further away from their spines, and so offers less support throughout the night.

Posture Pillows

We often think about beds as the place that we sleep in, but of course, many people enjoy reading or watching media on their devices in bed too. The problem is it can be a real pain to get comfortable when you are holding up a book, e-reader or smart phone.

Happily, there is a way you can sort this. To be more comfortable get yourself a posture pillow. This will support your back and sometimes even your arms. So you will be in a much more comfortable position while reading.

Comforter

Another way that you can improve your bed is to invest in a really good comforter. This will keep you warm and snuggly no matter what the weather outside is doing.

A Rug

Ok, so this isn’t exactly on the bed, but it is close to it, so it still counts. Having a rug by the side of the bed can actually make a huge difference to you. This is because it protects your feet from feeling the cold as they touch the floor first thing in the morning.

Of course, a great pair of slippers can also do the trick. Try and get ones with rubber bottoms on as these are very stable and also comfortable. Or, if you are feeling crafty why not pick up those knitting needles and have a go at making some yourself.
