Keeping your kids in check when it comes to tooth brushing is no easy task. Children seem to want to avoid brushing their teeth at all costs. Why is that? Regular check ups

Keeping your teeth in tip top condition is important as you grown up. Good health now will ensure strong teeth to last a lifetime. So keeping them checked by a dentist regularly is one way to make sure this happens.

Unfortunately, for some, the fear of a dentist is quite common. But I think that may be due to not visiting them on a regular basis, and there are plenty of ways to help your children face and overcome their fear!

Dealing with emergencies

Accidents can happen. But making sure they are dealt with quickly is one way to resolve the situation. Sometimes your regular dentist may not be available. Checking out websites like 24 Hourly Dentist would be recommended in situations like this. Keeping your teeth in good condition ensures good dental health.

Make it fun

Making brushing teeth fun is another way to ensure they get cleaned regularly. It can be seen as a bit of a mundane task otherwise. I have heard parents singing songs to encourage it. It’s advisable that you brush your teeth for a certain amount of time. If you don’t have a lovely singing voice, then you could use websites like Youtube. Just make sure they don’t finish brushing until the end of the song!

Let them pick their toothbrush

Keeping your children actively involved in is another way to make sure they brush their teeth. Which leads on to healthy tooth care. Getting them to pick their toothbrush is one way you can do this. They may pick something in their favorite colour or their favorite TV character. Whatever they decide, the fact they chose it should encourage them to brush more.

Make it part of your routine

Having healthy teeth starts with making sure good practise is part of your routine. Encouraging regular brushing in a morning and at night. Visiting the dentist as often as needed. If it’s part of your routine from the start, then it’s less likely to become something your kids avoid. This is where you need to set an example. It would be down to you to incorporate it into your child’s routine. Don’t give in if at first you don’t succeed. They will need to see that this is something they can’t avoid doing.

I hope these 5 ways to ensure your kids have healthy teeth will help you to encourage your children to look after their teeth. It’s the simplest of tasks but one that can be difficult to get your children to master. Perseverance is the key to success when it comes to this. Good luck.

There are books about brushing teeth and visiting the dentist that are helpful for kids. If younger kids see their parents or older siblings brushing their teeth, it sometimes is a motivator - as they want to mimic. Great ideas, thanks for sharing!
