If there is one pet peeve I have about the holidays, it’s the insanity of last-minute shopping. For years I waited until the last minute to get my gift shopping out of the way. It wasn’t until just a few years ago that I realized that waiting until the last minute took a lot of enjoyment out of the season. Now, I start my shopping early. And one of my favorite ways to get ahead on holiday shopping is by stocking up on gift cards!
Gift cards not only make ideal gifts for hard to shop for friends and family, they are also an easy way to save money on gift shopping. All you have to do is keep an eye out for special deals and sales on gift cards, and then head to the store and stock up. And speaking of gift card deals, here’s one you won’t want to miss!
From 9/18 to 9/24, you can put $15 extra dollars in your hands (via EZ Rebate) when you head to Staples and purchase MasterCard gift cards. Here’s how it works:
- Purchase $300 or more in MasterCard gift cards from Staples, and you will get a rebate form from the cashier.
- Fill out the rebate form (I like to submit mine via stapleseasyrebates.com, and it only takes a minute or two.
- A few weeks later you’ll get a $15 gift card by mail.
Savvy shoppers can save even more by purchasing the MasterCard gifts using a rewards card credit card. Many cards offer cash back and other great rebates.
