New Jimmy Dean Lunch and Dinner Offerings 

Working in construction, my husband takes his lunch with him daily. Although he loves his ham, turkey, bologne and cheese sandwich, eating the same thing day after day gets old. Now, thanks to the new line of Jimmy Dean lunch and dinner offerings, my husband can choose from 16 different and delicious bowls and sandwiches for a warm and hearty lunch. The other day I told you all about the delicious Jimmy Dean entrée bowls, but that was only half of the offerings!

Jimmy Dean also offers a tasty selection of 8 new robust sandwiches – four of which are part of the popular 300-calorie-or-less Jimmy Dean Delights line. These new sandwiches utilize the Heat Fresh™ microwavable pouch, winner of the 2014 DuPont Award for Innovation. In just one step, these unique pouches allow you to thoroughly heat the sandwich right inside the package, with the bun coming out warm and soft, but not at all soggy. Not only do these sandwiches take just a couple of minutes to make, but they are full of flavor, too! 

Jimmy Dean Sandwiches

With a tempting variety of flavors from which to choose such as smoked turkey, pulled pork and smoked sausage, lunch is practically guaranteed to be filling! Just check out all of these hearty sandwiches, including the 4 Jimmy Dean Delights, each of which come with 2 small sized sandwiches at 300 calories or less:

• Pulled Pork – tender, juicy pork covered in a tangy BBQ sauce and served on a buttermilk biscuit.
• Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast – hickory smoked turkey covered in sharp cheddar cheese with sliced Applewood smoked bacon on a country bun.
• Smoked Sausage – smoked sausage, peppers, onions and provolone with a french onion sauce on a country bun.
• Beef – tender, juicy beef in a smokey BBQ sauce served on a country bun.
• Delights Smoked Ham – tender smoked ham covered in melted sharp cheddar and served on a pretzel bun (290 cal.).
• Delights Pulled Chicken – homestyle chicken in a tangy BBQ sauce on a slightly sweet honey wheat bun (300 cal.).
• Delights Pulled Pork – tender pulled pork in a zesty chipotle BBQ sauce on a pretzel bun (300 cal.).
• Delights Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast – slices of hickory smoked turkey breast with Applewood smoked bacon and sharp cheddar, served on a honey wheat bun (290 cal.).

The first one I tried was the Jimmy Dean Delights Smoked Ham. Two sandwiches came in the package, and I had to adjust mine a bit as they had slid around inside the box causing the cheese to slip off of one of the sandwiches. Once I did that, I just placed the package inside the microwave, heated it for close to two minutes, then let it sit for one more minute to cool. Be careful when you open the package as they will still be hot – especially the melted cheese! Each sandwich had several slices of ham and was covered with melted sharp cheddar. The pretzel bun was a treat in itself with the bread soft and warm, not at all soggy like most breads get when microwaved. That Heat Fresh™ packaging really works! My only wish would be that the sandwiches were a tad bigger, but they are meant for a low calorie lunch!

Yesterday my husband took the Hickory Smoked Turkey Breast with him for lunch. According to him, it took about three minutes total to get it prepared and to sit down to eat. He described the sandwich as having lots of flavorful smoked turkey and smoked bacon, and that the warm cheddar cheese pulled the whole thing together. My husband likes his meat and was glad to see that they did not skimp on it at all. He was also impressed that the bun was not the least bit soggy after being cooked in the microwave. His only complaint was that he only took one sandwich with him!

Last night my husband and I shared the Beef sandwich, and we loved it! It had lots lots of tender and juicy shredded beef covered in a slightly tangy, slightly sweet BBQ sauce, and was served on a warm, flaky buttermilk biscuit. Again we were both pleased to see that they did not skimp on the meat at all as many frozen meals tend to do. We both agreed that this sandwich is one of our favorites!

Overall these sandwiches were wonderful! I definitely cannot wait to give the other flavors a try! And don’t forget about the entrée bowls! Eight different varieties from which to choose, each one full of juicy meats, crisp vegetables or tender pastas – depending on which you choose – that take just minutes to cook.
