Over the past couple of years, I have reviewed several portable Bluetooth speakers, but it wasn’t until recently that I came across one of the most unique ones I have seen in a while, the LuguLake Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Stand. Shaped like a pipe with a speaker on each end, this wireless speaker is designed to double as a stand for your tablet or smartphone.
In between the two speakers is a docking area where you can place your tablet or phone. At approximately 8″ in length, it is plenty long enough for any small tablet or smartphone, and the lip on it is high enough to hold your device securely. This feature makes the LuguLake Bluetooth Speaker perfect for watching movies or playing games, especially since the sound is so much better than that which you get from your device alone.
If you do not have a Bluetooth capable device, the speaker has with a built-in 3.5mm AUX audio output jack, and a rather short cord is included. It also comes with a USB cable to recharge the lithium-ion battery. According to the product specifications, you can get around 10 hours playing at medium volume, and so far I have found this to be pretty accurate. Charging time runs around 3 to 4 hours.
This little speaker puts out some great sound for its size. It has a 2W output which is plenty enough for a small room. With the majority of small portable Bluetooth speakers, the louder you turn up the volume, the more distortion you are going to get, but with this LuguLake speaker, any distortion is minimal. It puts out a fair amount of both bass and treble, giving you full stereo sound on a small portable speaker.
The only complaint I have (and it’s by no means a deal breaker) is that there is no way to adjust the volume directly on the speaker, you have to do so using the volume controls on your device. Other than that, this is definitely one of my favorite bluetooth speakers I have come across!
