Skip smoothies in exchange for fresh fruit

If you go into any store and head to the drinks aisle, you’ll find them stacks with smoothies. It’s a trend that has gotten really big recently. The labels are covered in buzzwords that make you feel like drinking one is going to do you a lot of good. But hang on! First of all, pre-bottled or freshly made smoothies can be very expensive. Furthermore, when you break down a piece of fruit into smoothie form, you increase the sugar. This sugar then goes into your body, and can damage your teeth and give you a short-lived sugar rush. The new advice is to take your fruit as whole pieces, in its natural form, and not smoothies. Not only is this better for your health, but it’s also better for your wallet!

Utilize the power of supplements

That being said, eating loads of fruit and vegetables can get expensive. This is especially true if you want to reach your recommended daily intake of vitamins and minerals. Same goes for probiotics. This is why utilizing the power of supplements is wise. The initial outlay might be more expensive than just buying a bag of apples, but a course of supplements will last you a lot of time. Due to how easy they are to take, it requires minimal effort to both consume them and remember to consume them. You can save money on your vitamins by taking a multivitamin. Also, be wise with your probiotics by choosing one that has been well researched. LGG is one of the best-researched probiotics on the market.

Quit the gym and exercise outdoors

Gym memberships can be a real drain on your finances. In order for many membership packages to be worth the money, you need to go every single day. Let’s be honest, many of us don’t have the time for that! Make getting fit and well-exercised far more financially viable by quitting the gym and getting fit for free. The great outdoors is right on your doorstep. Live near a canal? Go cycling on the canal path? Live near roads and streets? Go running! Live near a quiet, public park. Go and practice some Yoga or Pilates. All of these activities are free, as long as you have the basic equipment in order to be able to do them.

Alternatively, set up your own home gym. This will need an initial outlay, to set up a room in your house appropriately. You will then need to build up your equipment. But you can do this slowly, over the course of a few months or even years. Once you have all the things you need, you basically have your own gym. It’s free; it’s open whenever you fancy, and there is noone to share it with. Plus, you get total control of what music is on the speakers! Finally, another option is using workout DVDS and videos and using them at home. This way you get tuition in learning or refining an exercise without needing to pay for a class.
