Headed to the beach this Labor Day Weekend? Nothing is worse than arriving at the hotel only to discover you left something at home! Over the years I have come up with a list of items I always need once I get to the beach, but that I usually forget to pack. This list has become my go-to when packing for a weekend beach getaway.
10 Must-Have Items for a Weekend Beach Getaway
1. Sunglasses – all that bright sunlight reflecting off the water and sand can do some serious damage to your eyes.
2. Swimsuit – what would a trip to the beach be without swimming?
3. Sunblock – no matter if you plan on being outside for a few minutes, or a few hours, protect your skin!
4. Book – nothing beats laying on the beach listening to the wave break while reading a great book!
5. Bluetooth Speaker – enjoy your favorite tunes while on the beach without needing a plug or cord!
6. After-Sun Lotion – after the sun, after the shower, soothe and soften your skin with after-sun skin care!
7. Lip Balm – your skin isn’t the only thing that can burn! Protect your lips from sun and wind, while keeping them kissably soft!
8. Beach towel – I love laying on the beach, but not without my oversized beach towels!
9. Body Butter – great for your body, I find that body butter works wonders on my feet as well! Especially after a long walk on the beach!
10. Cell Phone Charger – unplug and relax, but don’t forget to stay in touch which you cannot do if you forget your phone charger!

Now that you have everything ready to pack, the next question is what to use to hold it all?! I used to be a heavy packer, taking practically my entire wardrobe when I’d go on vacation, even if it was just a two or three-day vacation. And despite all of that, I would still leave some things I needed at home!

This tote is the perfect size for my husband’s and my clothes for a weekend getaway. It measures approximately 19″ by 8″ by 11″, and is made from a durable polyester. It has an adjustable, removable shoulder strap, as well as reinforced easy-carry handles. The inside is very spacious and has an extra zippered pocket. On the outside are two open pockets, one on each end. I am able to fit all of our clothes easily in this one tote.
Picking the color or font of the monogram was the hardest part as there were so many beautiful options! Once I selected the thread color, I then selected the order of the initials I wanted to use. One thing I really appreciated, was the explanation that was given on how monograms are typically written.
For example, for a female, the general order of the letters is First Name, Last Name, Middle Name. There was even an explanation of the correct way to do a monogram for a couple! This really comes in handy if you are giving a gift! After I selected the font I wanted from a list of ten choices, I entered my initials. I was also given the option to add additional letters, symbols, or words, up to 12 characters.
Once ordered, my bag arrived within a couple of days. I was quite impressed with the high quality of the bag and the professionalism of the monogram! The pink lettering I chose looks great against the black-and-white chevron pattern.
