The Fresh Air Pillow Kickstarter Campaign: Why You Need This Pillow!

How would you feel if I told you that the pillows your family sleep on could very well be the cause of year round allergies and even asthma?  While it is not the actual pillow that is the culprit, it does act as the home for thousands of microscopic organisms known as dust mites. These mites live inside almost every bed and pillow, and independent scientific studies have shown that nearly a third of the weight of your normal pillow is comprised of bugs, dead skin, house dust mites, and, yes, their feces.  These pests can very well be the cause of many year round allergies and asthma, too.

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America:

“Dust mites may be the most common cause of year-round allergy and asthma. About 20 million Americans have dust mite allergy… Having dust mites doesn’t mean that your house isn’t clean. In most areas of the world, these creatures are in every house, no matter how immaculate. But it is true that keeping your home as free of dust as possible can lessen dust mite allergy.”

Did you know that it takes temperatures of at least 130 degrees to kill dust mites?

But Dust Mites aren’t the only thing lurking in your pillow…

In addition to dust mites and their feces, studies show pillows also contain mold and bacterial organisms.

Pretty nasty, huh!

Well, thankfully there is a solution that has been developed right here in America by Scott Rochlin and his father, called The Fresh Air Pillow.

This revolutionary pillow is considered the World’s Most Washable Pillow as it has a removable outer shell and a revolutionary inner casing that is filled with small hypoallergenic, antibacterial machine-washable foam pellets. This allows you to wash both the outer shell and the inner casing in a single load, and you can relax knowing the pillow is getting completely clean from the inside out!  Unlike the pillows we use now, The Fresh Air Pillow hyperallergenic pillow is made to be washed as often as you like.

Although there have been many interested investors wanting to ship the pillow overseas for production,  Steve and his father want the project to remain a family company and keep the manufacturing right here in the USA to help create jobs for more Americans and ensure the highest quality pillows are being produced.

So what does this mean? It means that The Fresh Air Pillow is a part of a Grass Roots campaign on the website called Kickstarter. This project is half funded already, but it needs your help to get the rest of it because it is an all or nothing campaign! And I don’t know about you, but after watching the really gross video below with Matt Lauer of the Today Show,  I want, no, I need, one of these pillows!

This Kickstarter campaign has less than 3 weeks to go so be sure to head on over and make a pledge. The goal is to raise $18,884, and the deadline is July 23rd. They are only about $7000 away from their goal so even if you can only put in $1, every little bit helps!  And for those who make a pledge of $59 or more, you will get a free pillow when they hit their goal!  And yes, this is a pillow that will easily wash, stay clean, cool and comfortable for many years to come.

Even if you can’t donate, please share this through your social media so we all can have the chance to rest our heads on a truly clean pillow!

Oooh!! That's kind of scary! I think you should have a really huge picture of a dust mite to freak everyone out! I know I have my hairs standing just thinking of what's living in my pillow. Sounds like a really great campaign this.
