McDonald’s is everywhere, but not every menu item makes it to every location. Some of the most mouthwatering, creative, or just plain fun offerings are tucked away in certain cities, states, or countries. It’s almost unfair.
These items are loved where they’re served—but still haven’t been rolled out across the U.S. Here are 21 McDonald’s menu items that should absolutely be everywhere… but somehow aren’t.
1. McLobster (Canada and New England)

Yes, McDonald’s once sold lobster rolls. This seasonal item shows up mostly in parts of Canada and New England during the summer. It features real lobster meat on a soft bun with light dressing.
While it’s not gourmet, it’s surprisingly fresh and not overly mayo-heavy. It’s a unique twist that proves McDonald’s can go fancy when it wants to.
2. Mozzarella Dippers (UK)

Crispy, cheesy, and totally missing here. Mozzarella dippers are popular in the UK, often served with a tangy tomato dip. They’re bite-sized, gooey in the middle, and have a satisfying crunch.
Perfect for snacking or as a cheesy sidekick to a burger. Yet somehow, they’ve never hit U.S. menus in full swing.

3. McSpaghetti (Philippines)

Pasta at McDonald’s? It’s real. In the Philippines, you can order McSpaghetti—soft noodles in a sweet tomato sauce with ground beef and hot dog slices.
It’s wildly popular there, especially with kids. It may sound odd, but fans rave about the comfort-food vibe. And it definitely stands out in a sea of burgers and fries.
4. Pineapple Pie (Thailand)

Think apple pie—but tropical. Thailand’s McDonald’s sells warm, flaky pineapple pies filled with sweet, tangy fruit.
The balance of tart and sugary is perfect, and the portable format is ideal. U.S. locations stick to apple or seasonal pumpkin, but this island-inspired version deserves a shot nationwide.
5. McKroket (Netherlands)

Crispy meat gravy sandwich? Yes, please. The McKroket is a Dutch favorite. It’s made from a beef croquette—think creamy beef filling, deep-fried until golden—served on a bun with mustard sauce.
It’s rich, decadent, and different. And honestly, it would be a hit with anyone who loves comfort food.

6. McArabia (Middle East)

Flatbread > buns, sometimes. The McArabia is a grilled chicken or kofta patty wrapped in pita-style flatbread with fresh veggies and garlic sauce.
It’s lighter than a typical burger and packed with bold flavor. Sold in the Middle East, it’s a reminder that fast food can still feel fresh and regional.
7. Curly Fries (Some U.S. Test Markets)

Why do we only get these sometimes? McDonald’s has tested curly fries in select markets. They’re crispy, seasoned, and fun.
But for reasons unknown, they’ve never become a standard menu item. Meanwhile, other chains are rocking curly fries year-round.
8. Churros (Mexico and Latin America)

Warm, cinnamon-dusted, and perfect. Churros at McDonald’s are a sweet delight in several Latin American countries.
They’re golden brown and filled with gooey caramel or chocolate. Dunkable and delicious, these treats feel like something Americans would instantly love—but they’ve never made it past the border.

9. Samurai Pork Burger (Thailand)

Sweet soy glaze meets savory pork. The Samurai Pork Burger is a Thai favorite that features a juicy pork patty marinated in teriyaki-style sauce.
It’s slightly sweet, a little smoky, and paired with lettuce and mayo. The unique flavor combo has a devoted fanbase—and major U.S. potential.
10. McToast (Germany)

Breakfast, simplified. McToast is Germany’s no-fuss breakfast option. It’s essentially a toasted sandwich with ham and cheese or other fillings.
It’s quick, warm, and less messy than a breakfast burrito. It could be perfect for commuters here too—but it’s nowhere to be found.
11. Shaka Shaka Chicken (Japan)

Shake it up—literally. This Japanese item is a seasoned fried chicken cutlet served with a seasoning packet. You drop it in the bag, shake it, and enjoy.
It’s interactive and flavorful, with seasonings like cheese or pepper. It’s fun, customizable, and a genius snack-on-the-go idea.

12. Green Tea McFlurry (Asia)

A matcha lover’s dream. In several Asian countries, you’ll find a McFlurry made with green tea soft serve and mix-ins like Oreos or red bean.
It’s creamy, slightly bitter, and totally addictive. Matcha fans in the U.S. would flip for this, yet it remains overseas only.
13. Bacon Roll (UK)

Simple. Savory. Legendary. The Bacon Roll is a UK breakfast staple—crusty roll, back bacon, and either brown sauce or ketchup.
No eggs, no cheese, just pure bacon goodness. It’s minimalist and deeply satisfying. Somehow, McDonald’s U.S. hasn’t given us this straightforward win.
14. Taro Pie (Asia-Pacific)

Purple on the inside, amazing in your mouth. Taro Pie is another hot-pocket-style dessert sold in countries like China, Singapore, and Malaysia.
It’s filled with sweet, earthy taro and wrapped in crispy pastry. It’s colorful, different, and surprisingly tasty.

15. Double Big Mac (Occasional in U.S., Regular in Canada)

Four patties. Four. This oversized Big Mac shows up randomly in U.S. test markets, but it’s a regular in Canada.
If you’ve ever wished your Big Mac was just more… Big Mac, this is the answer. Why not let it be a permanent option?
16. McRice Burger (Asia)

Buns made of rice. Yes, really. This burger, served in countries like the Philippines and Taiwan, swaps out bread for compact rice patties.
It’s chewy, a little crispy, and pairs surprisingly well with teriyaki chicken or beef. It’s different—but in the best way.
17. Chicken Maharaja Mac (India)

Big Mac goes chicken and spicy. India’s version of the Big Mac skips beef for spicy grilled or crispy chicken patties.
Layered with lettuce, onions, cheese, and a zingy sauce, it’s full of flavor and flair. It’s big, bold, and uniquely suited for those who love heat.

18. McFlurry Stroopwafel (Netherlands)

Caramel, waffle, and creamy swirl. The Stroopwafel McFlurry combines vanilla ice cream with chunks of the Dutch cookie and caramel.
It’s crispy, chewy, and ultra sweet. This treat once visited U.S. shores briefly, but it deserves a permanent home here.
19. Sweet Corn Cup (Asia)

Unexpected—and kind of brilliant. McDonald’s in several Asian countries offer a side of buttered sweet corn instead of fries.
It’s warm, lightly salted, and way lighter than the usual sides. A simple, healthy(ish) swap that surprisingly works.
20. Teriyaki McBurger (Japan)

Saucy and iconic. This burger has a seasoned pork patty smothered in teriyaki sauce and paired with lettuce and mayo.
It’s messy in a good way. It’s been around in Japan for years—and still hasn’t landed in the U.S. permanently.

21. Cordon Bleu Burger (Poland)

Yes, it’s as indulgent as it sounds. This Polish creation layers a crispy chicken patty with a slice of ham and gooey cheese.
It’s essentially a sandwich version of chicken cordon bleu—rich, savory, and totally filling. It’s over-the-top and awesome—and would absolutely sell out stateside.
