FATHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE SUGGESTION

It’s almost Father’s Day and you have the perfect gift, the kids have made their cards, dinner is planned and all you are missing is a delectable dessert for Dad.  After having had the opportunity to try a Barbara’s Cookie Pies, I can honestly say I have found that dessert!

Hand-made from a family recipe that has been passed down for three generations, Barbara’s Cookie Pies are more than just a cookie and more than just a pie…in fact, they are both!

Made from scratch in small batches, each gourmet cookie pie is hand-pressed and hand-decorated using only the highest quality ingredients.  The all-natural butter cookie dough forms the crust, then each is filled with delicious cookie and candy toppings.

With flavors ranging from Almond Joyful Cookie Pie to Toffee Almond Cookie Pie and everything in-between, trying to choose a flavor was a mouth-watering chore!  After much debate, I finally decided to try the Peppermint Patty Cookie Pie, and I am glad I did!

They offer it for every holiday and occasion you can thin of. With Father’s Day right around the corner, mine arrived packaged prettily in a Father’s Day green and blue theme.  It was so beautiful,  I hated to open it to try the cookie pie!

Once opened you could smell a pleasant peppermint aroma.  The cookie pie is a pretty good size, about 7″ in diameter and a little less than an inch thick.  The Peppermint Patty Cookie Pie consists of their butter cookie dough on both the top and bottom with a thin layer of cool mint cream sandwiched in the middle with the whole pie encrusted with a dark chocolate drizzle.

Biting into a slice, I found the cookie to be not exactly chewy, but not too hard either.  The taste is amazing!  Imagine the buttery taste of the cookie crust combined with a rich smooth chocolate with a bite of refreshing mint.  Definitely a great combination!
