Gluten-Free Foods, Walmart and You!

Love it? Pls Share it!

Saturday is my usual day for shopping at Walmart, and as it turns out this past Saturday was the perfect day to shop as Walmart was hosting a Gluten-Free event!

Having not tried many gluten-free foods, I couldn’t wait to see what they had to offer; and to see if I liked the way they taste. When I arrived our hostess had just finished setting up and was laying out the first samples of Quaker Gluten-Free Popped chips in Cheddar Cheese. I was very surprised at how delicious they were!

While I was talking with her, several people came by to sample the chips. Each time their reaction was the same – a look of surprise at the deliciously cheesy taste! Quite a few people took a moment to ask her questions about gluten and the gluten-free products offered at Walmart.  They also grabbed one of the informative flyers about Celiac Disease that she had set out.

After she told me where to find some of the other gluten-free products Walmart carries, we said our goodbyes. My first stop was the snack aisle where I picked up a bag of the Quaker Popped chips and a bag of their Popped Rice Crisps. Both products were available in several flavors, and many yummy recipe ideas popped (pun intended) into my head while I was looking.

A few aisles down I found an entire section dedicated to gluten-free products. There was all sorts of delicious foods and baking products by brands such as Udi’s, Nature’s Path, Van’s, Glutino, Clif Bar and more. There is even a gluten-free section in the frozen goods as well!

Overall I was quite impressed with the selection of gluten-free products I found at Walmart. When I left I had a couple of them in my bag – including one of which I’ll be using in an upcoming recipe! Next shopping trip, I am planning on trying some more!

My grandchild tried Walmart Spicy Rolled Corn Chips & she loved them. She has Celiac Disease but I know that had nothing to do with the terrible rash she has since eating them. I am not sure what food or product she is reacting to. It has been a week & she is still breaking out. Is there anything in your product that would cause this?

Hi Mrs Jones! I am not sure, as it's not my product. This is just a post I wrote promoting the fact that Walmart carries gluten-free foods, too. If you still have the packaging, perhaps you can locate a phone number on there that you could contact for more info? Or maybe even ask her doctor if any of the listed ingredients could be the cause. I hope you find out what is causing her reaction!

It's really great to be able to try the gluten free products before buying them. Some are really tasty!

I totally agree! In the past I have actually hesitated to buy any gluten-free products simply because I was worried they may not taste good. This event made me realize that they taste great!
