Halloween Bat Twinkies

Halloween Bat Twinkies are so easy to make, it's scary! These faBOOlous no-bake Halloween treats are perfect for parties and they make a spooktacular snack, too. Best of all, they're dreadfully delicious! These instructions and ingredient amounts are for 4 Halloween Bat Twinkies.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Moonberry Twinkies
  • 1 package White Fondant 4.4 ounce
  • 1 package Black Fondant 4.4 ounce
  • 1 tube Decorating icing black
  • 1 jar Sprinkles black
  • 1 package Candy Eyes green
  • Powdered Sugar to keep fondant from sticking

Instructions

  • Unwrap the Twinkies. Use a small dab of icing to attach the eyes to the top part of each Twinkies.
  • Draw a nose and mouth using the black icing. then cover with sprinkles before the icing dries.
  • Add a light dusting of powdered sugar to your rolling mat/surface and rolling pin.
  • Roll out enough black fondant to make a set of wings and a pair of ears for each bat.
  • Using the printable template, carefully cut out the wings from the black fondant.
  • Next, cut out the ears. I made mine similar to a teardrop shape with a pointed top. Be sure to make the bottom part of the drop a bit longer so you can fold it over to form a tab. This will make it easier to attach them to the Twinkie.
  • Cut out tiny, triangular fangs from the white fondant.
  • Optional: place fondant parts in the fridge for about 30 minutes. This makes it easier to attach to the bat.
  • Use the black icing to attach the ears, fangs, and wings to each Twinkie.

Notes

Tips:
  • use a light dusting of powdered sugar to prevent fondant from sticking to the rolling pin and rolling surface.
  • use a paintbrush to remove excess sprinkles that get stuck down in the crevices of the Twinkie cakes.
  • if placing fondant in the fridge, prop up the top part of the ears (the elongated tab part will be flat on plate) on the edge of a knife handle or similar object to help ears remain in an upright position once attached to the bats.
