Earth Friendly Fabric Freshener and Dishwashing Liquid Review

I was sent two of their products to try for review. This was my first foray into the All-Natural Cleanser world, as my interest in Green products has increased since I began this blog a few months back.  So, I wasn’t really sure about the effectiveness of all natural cleaning products. I love the idea behind them, and try to do my part in all ways possible to help the environment, but have just never been too sure about how well they work, until now.

The first product I tried was Earth Friendly Product’s Eco Breeze Fabric and Air Freshener, which is Lemongrass-scented.  Now I am all for scents, and I love for my home and clothes to smell fresh and clean, and this has an incredibly fresh and clean scent!  I gave it a couple of tests and it passed with flying colors!

The first test was on one of my husband’s shirts.  Let me give you some background. We used to smoke and quit almost four months ago. YAY!! Now, neither of us can stand the smell of cigarette smoke, at all.  It never bothered us before, but now? Wow, yucky! So anyway, we went to this BINGO hall the other night with his mother and sat in the midst of at least 200 people, all of whom seemed to be smoking.

By the time we left, got in the car and started our drive home, we began to notice that we reeked!  I mean reeked, BAD!  To the point where we unrolled the car windows, and as soon as we got home, removed our clothes and immediately hopped in the shower. Okay, so maybe we were super sensitive to it, but still!

I do laundry on Mondays, and this was Saturday, so our smoky clothes were going to be sitting in the dirty clothes for a little over a day, stinking up the rest of the clothes.  I decided this would be an ideal opportunity to test my new fabric and air freshener!

So I grabbed his shirt to start with, brought it into the kitchen, and proceeded to give it a few good sprays. The result?  Much better than cigarette smoke!  I won’t claim that it completely killed the smell because honestly, only a good wash will do that, but it really did eliminate A LOT of it and made the shirt smell much better!  Success!

Now it was time for the second test!  My large storage closet/mini-office/kitty-litter-room!  This is the actually the smaller of two huge walk-in closets in our bedroom which we had originally planned on using just for storage and an out-of-sight place to put Sookie’s litter box.

I later decided to stick a desk, my desktop computer and some filing cabinets in there and make it into a storage room/mini office.  Now, although we clean her litter box daily, and she is very neat when it comes to her litter, there is always going to be a hint of that litter box smell. That makes this the perfect spot to test my new fabric and air freshener!

So, I gave it a few good sprays up in the air, and also made sure the carpet received some as well.  The result?  A fresh and clean lemony-crisp smell!  One that lasted and lasted, as well!   These two successes led me to wandering around the apartment spraying the bed clothes, the air, the carpets and some furniture (I made sure to spot-test certain fabrics to be on the safe side). Now my home smells wonderfully fresh!

This awesome Fabric and Air Freshener is okay to use for all water-safe surfaces. It will not stain, nor leave a sticky residue.  It is available in a variety of sizes and scents, and like all of Earth Friendly Products’, it is made from essential oils and natural plant-based ingredients, with no perfumes or dyes.  My verdict?  Love it!

The second product I tried was Earth Friendly Products’ Ultra Dishmate, Manual Dishwashing Liquid, Natural Grapefruit.  This dishwashing liquid is also made from 100% natural ingredients, and is phosphate, perfume and dye-free.  I found it to be a very concentrated formula, where just a little bit goes a long way!

I decided to test this the same night I broiled some Pork Chops, cooked mashed potatoes, succotash and lima beans.  Lots of dirty pots and pans and dishes!  Lots of grease from broiling the pork chops!  The perfect test!  Using a Skoy cloth, I squirted some of the liquid and found that it lasted through the cleaning of all of the pots and pans!

Nice and sudsy with a wonderfully fresh, citrus scent!  It cut through all the food and grease with no problem and left everything clean and without spots!  It was also very easy to rinse off, leaving no film or greasy residue!  And my hands, once I was through?  Very soft, and they actually smelled good too!  Again, I was super impressed!  My verdict?  Love it!

So, in my opinion, Earth Friendly Products was an impressive introduction to my use of an all natural dish soap and fabric/air freshener!  Not only are they eco-friendly, but they really did what they were supposed to do, and they did it well!  You can find these products and many more on the Earth Friendly Products web site.
