Sadly though, for some getting pregnant takes time. They’ve devoted their effort in successfully conceiving a baby with no sign of fruition. One in every 10 couples in the US are struggling to conceive. Some can get pregnant pretty fast, others not so much.

Infertility can be caused by both men and women. This can be caused by hormonal issues, aging eggs or sperm, an many other things.

According to Mayo Clinic, the chance of getting pregnant by having frequent, unprotected sex increases as months go by.

Every 30 months your chances of conceiving increase by around 10 to 20 percent. There are some practical ways to increase your chance of getting pregnant and help you conceive faster though.

Here are some tips that can help you get pregnant faster:

Timing is Everything

In the span of a month, there are usually only about six days in which you are fertile. It is the five days before your ovulation and the day itself of your ovulation. Around these times is when your chances of getting pregnant is higher than normal days. Having intercourse a day or two days before your ovulation period can increase your chance of getting pregnant significantly.

Lubes, Creams, & Condoms

If you want to get pregnant faster, you need to eliminate some things you use while having sex. Condoms are obviously one of them but the other things are creams and lube. Lube can disrupt the flow of sperm trying to fertilize your egg. They are likely to die before even reaching your egg. Creams can also kill sperm.

Post-Sex Activities

Hot baths can be bad. Hot water can cause your temperature to rise. An increased or elevated body temperature after sex can harm the sperm cells traveling inside of you. The higher than normal body temperature can affect their motility and viability thus resulting in their early demise before finishing their task.

Weight Matters

Your body weight can affect your chances of getting pregnant. If you have more than 10% of  normal body fat, hormonal activities in your body can go haywire and that includes reproductive hormones that induce ovulation. If they get disrupted, it can result in irregular menstruation thus lower chance of getting pregnant.

Position

Some positions can assist with the flow of sperm cells in your uterus.. A woman’s uterus is naturally curved down or sloping downwards, so being on your back right after ejaculation or sex can help the sperm go faster and directly into the place they need to be. Let gravity help.

In addition, there are some studies that suggest that morning time for intimacy can increase your chances of pregnant because sperm count is higher around this time of the day.

Food

What you eat fuels your body. Healthy foods help keep you healthy and unhealthy foods can cause you to become…unhealthy. Eating healthy and nutritious food is not only for the sake of your health but it can also greatly affect your fertility. Nutrients like zinc can boost egg and sperm production. Vitamin B6 helps regulate and normalize your hormones.
