Love it? Pls Share it!

There’s something especially fun about sipping on a brightly colored drink. The right saturated cocktail can make anyone feel like they’re on a tropical retreat, even if it only lasts to the bottom of the glass. If you’re looking for something fun, and beautiful blue like the popular Blue Hawaiian Cocktail, try out some of these other true blue cocktails!

The Blueberry Fizz

In this highball blue cocktail, blue curacao liqueur floats on top of a clear layer of other ingredients. To make a blueberry fizz, you’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/3 oz simple syrup

Pour vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup into a highball glass filled with ice and add blueberries before stirring. Top off the drink with the blue curaçao and garnish with a lime wedge.

The Blue Lagoon

This electric blue cocktail is perfect for hot summer days with the citrusy flavors that come from the blue curaçao and lemonade used to mix it. All in all, you’ll need:

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 4 oz lemonade

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Strain over a hurricane glass filled with ice and garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherry.

On really hot days, try a frozen version by mixing the ingredients in a blender with ice instead of a cocktail shaker.

The Blue Margarita

Unlike a traditional margarita that uses Triple Sec, the Blue Margarita uses blue curaçao, giving the drink a slightly different citrus flavor and its fun blue hue. A Blue Margarita requires:

  • 1 1/2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 1 oz lime juice

Salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until combined, then pour the mixture with the ice into the margarita glass. Garnish with an orange wheel and maraschino cherry.

Like the Blue Lagoon, a Blue Margarita can also be served frozen when prepared in a blender with ice instead of a cocktail shaker.

The Tsunami

This blue cocktail is bursting with tropical flavor thanks to peach schnapps, coconut rum, and pineapple juice. To make a Tsunami, you’ll need:

  • 1/2 oz coconut rum
  • 1/2 oz blue curaçao
  • 1/2 peach schnapps
  • 1/2 vodka
  • pineapple juice
  • lemon-lime soda

Add rum, blue curaçao, schnapps, and vodka to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice, then top off with pineapple juice. Stir before adding the lemon-lime soda and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

The Mermaid Lemonade

This true blue cocktail drink has many shades of blue when prepared correctly thanks to the “specific gravity effect,” a popular science experiment in bartending that helps create layered drinks thanks to the differing amounts of sugar in each ingredient. For a Mermaid Lemonade, you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1/2 oz blue curaçao
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 4 oz lemonade

All 1/4 cup of ice to a lowball glass and add the blue curaçao and rum. Allow the blue curaçao to settle at the bottom of the glass then add the rest of the ice. Pour in the lemonade and garnish with a lemon wheel and maraschino cherries.

The Royal Blue Cocktail

This blue cocktail has a deep sapphire blue color from the inclusion of cranberry juice, which makes the blue darker than the electric blue seen in most blue curaçao drinks. For the Royal Blue Cocktail, you’ll need:

  • 1 oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 oz citron vodka
  • 1 oz blue curaçao
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Sugar the rim of a chilled martini glass. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker full of ice and shake until chilled. Strain into the martini glass.

With so many true blue cocktails to choose from, you’re sure to find the right drink for you!
