Kids’ Rooms a Mess? Tidy Up with These Storage Solutions

Love it? Pls Share it!

Take a peek into your children’s bedrooms. Are they immaculately tidy or do they look more like a bomb has hit? If it’s the latter, you either need better storage or your kids need some lessons in tidying up. Let’s assume that the storage is the issue, and you just need some ingenious ways to put all their toys away. If you need to sort out their bedroom or playroom, there are lots of ways you can get it organized. From buckets and boxes to hangers and hooks, you can start tidying up their space, so it’s more of a controlled chaos than before.

Restrict Accessible Toys
Has your child got far too many toys? If they have so many that it seems impossible to keep them in order, it’s time to assess which ones are most important. It’s unlikely that your children play with every single toy they own, so put them on rotation instead. Let them pick a number of toys every week or two, that they can have access to in their room. Everything else can go into boxes, which you can put away in a closet, under the bed or on top of the wardrobe. Using this method, you can set the majority of toys out of sight most of the time. You can even go one step further, and help them give away toys they no longer play with at all.

Wall Organizers
If you’re running low on floor space, wall organizers are ideal. You can hang them on the backs of doors, on bunk beds or on the wall to create a perfect storage cubby. They’re brilliant for books if your kids are always leaving them lying around. Depending on the size you buy, you can use them to store soft toys, stationery, and even clothing accessories. Hooks also make an excellent addition to a room so that you can hang wall organizers and other items from them.

Storage Bins
Sometimes it’s best just to throw everything in a storage tub, just as long as your kids don’t need to empty them to get the one toy they want. Large plastic, wooden or fabric containers are excellent for simple storage, especially if they have an open top. All your child has to do to tidy things away is throw everything in. Choosing colorful ones, perhaps with their favorite characters on them, will encourage them to do their own tidying away.

Small Storage
One of the most annoying things in a kid’s bedroom or playroom is all the tiny things you can find floating around. It could be Lego, pencils, marbles or plastic figurines, but it’s always something you don’t notice until you’ve stepped on it. Make it easier to put away smaller items with some little storage solutions. For example, you can use jars to hold pencils, pens, and other craft items.

Remember that even when you have the most sophisticated storage solutions, they’re useless without a child who can tidy up after themselves. You can turn it into a game, even with very little ones, to make sure your storage items get some use.
