After a long day of work, the last thing many of us want to do is come home and start cooking dinner. Often I will look for whatever time-saving options I can find, and one of my favorites lately has been Reser’s Fine Foods Baked Sides.
If you remember my last review of Reser’s Fine Foods, then you already know how much I like these delicious baked dinners and baked side dishes. This time around I was sent some more flavors of their baked sides to try, and they were just as delectable as the first ones!
Reser’s Fine Foods Main St. Bistro Sides
Reser’s Fine Foods makes a line of delicious dinners and hearty side dishes called Main St. Bistro that are already fully baked and come ready to heat and serve. These are not frozen dinners and sides either – they’re refrigerated, which gives them a much fresher flavor and texture.
All you have to do is heat them up in the microwave or oven, serve alongside your main dish, and dinner is ready in minutes. Seriously, it doesn’t get much easier than that. They’re perfect for busy nights when you just want something tasty on the table without all the prep and cleanup.
Main St. Bistro Sides
This time I was sent three Main St. Bistro sides: Baked Scalloped Potatoes, Zesty Au Gratin Potatoes, and Baked Hash Brown Casserole. All three were super easy to cook. If you use the microwave, each dish takes anywhere from 3 to 7 minutes tops. If you choose the oven, they’ll be ready in about 20 to 25 minutes. Either way, you’re in for a treat.
Main St. Bistro Baked Scalloped Potatoes review
Let’s start with my personal favorite — Baked Scalloped Potatoes. This side dish is made up of layers of thinly sliced, soft potatoes soaked in a creamy sauce with a hint of sour cream, and topped with a golden brown layer of Cheddar cheese.
They were rich and velvety, with that homemade texture and taste that’s hard to find in store-bought sides. I really loved how the potatoes still had a little bite to them — not mushy at all — and the cheese on top melted perfectly. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to serve this at a holiday dinner.
Main St. Bistro Zesty Au Gratin Potatoes review
Next up are the Zesty Au Gratin Potatoes, which came in a creamy, flavorful sauce with crispy bacon and just the right amount of jalapeños mixed in.
These had a sharper, cheesier flavor than the scalloped version, and that little kick from the peppers made them really stand out. Don’t worry, they’re not spicy, just zesty enough to give them a boost. These were my second favorite, and I could totally see them being a hit at a cookout or potluck
Main St. Bistro Baked Hash Brown CasseroleReview
And last but not least — the Baked Hash Brown Casserole, which was my husband’s favorite of the bunch. This one’s loaded with finely shredded potatoes and tons of melted cheese, then topped with a generous sprinkle of Cheddar.
It’s total comfort food. The edges crisped up beautifully in the oven, and the inside stayed creamy and cheesy. It reminded me of something you’d bring to a church potluck or family gathering — hearty, warm, and so satisfying. It’d also make a great brunch side!
Where Can I Find Main St. Bistro Sides?
You can find Reser’s Main St. Bistro sides and dinners in the refrigerated section at most local grocery stores — not the freezer aisle. They offer a great mix of quality, convenience, and flavor without breaking the bank.
In addition to these sides, Reser’s also makes a wide range of delicious deli salads, Mexican dishes, dips, spreads, and more. Whether you’re putting together a quick weeknight dinner or need a last-minute side for a gathering, these are a reliable, tasty option that’ll save you time without sacrificing flavor.
