I am not a fan of frozen dinners at all, but I do like how fast and easy they are to make, which really comes in handy after a busy day when you need dinner on the table fast.  Recently, I came across a wonderful alternative when I was offered the opportunity to try a line of baked foods created by Reser’s Fine Foods.

Reser’s Fine Foods makes a line of delicious dinners and hearty side dishes called Main St. Bistro that are already fully baked. These are not frozen dinners, but instead are kept in the refrigerator. All you have to do is heat them up in the microwave or oven, serve alongside some vegetables and a salad, and dinner is ready in minutes.

I was sent four different dishes to try, two Main St. Bistro dinners and two Main St. Bistro Sides. All of the dishes were extremely quick and easy to cook. They could be heated either in the microwave or the oven. If you use the microwave, each dish takes anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes tops.  If you choose the oven, each will take anywhere from 20 to 25 minutes. Regardless of the method you choose, these dinners were simply delicious!

The baked dinners included Reser’s Main St. Bistro Baked Penne Toscana with Italian Sausage and my personal favorite, Reser’s Main St. Bistro Baked Pasta Alfredo with White Chicken and Bacon. The Penne Toscano was packed full of sausage and penne pasta in a rich tomato sauce with just a hint of spice.

My personal favorite, the Pasta Alfredo, combined juicy chicken and a creamy alfredo sauce topped with crispy bits of bacon – simply delicious!

The baked sides included Reser’s Main St. Bistro Baked Macaroni and Cheese, Reser’s Main St. Bistro Baked Scalloped Potatoes. The Macaroni and Cheese was incredible with tons of noodles in a creamy cheese sauce, topped with real cheddar cheese that is slightly browned.

The Scalloped Potatoes consist of layers of thinly sliced, soft potatoes soaked in a creamy sauce.

Like the baked dinners, each side dish took very little time to prepare, and they tasted amazingly good – so good, you would think they were homemade!

Reser’s Main St. Bistro can be found in most local grocery stores. The carry a variety of side dishes and dinners. Reser’s Fine Foods also makes a selection of salads, Mexican dishes, spreads, dips and more. They are a delicious, non-frozen and budget-friendly meal option for busy working families.
