Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these easy steps to brew up your batch of Spooky No-Bake Sugar Wafer Halloween Cookies. With just a quick dip and a sprinkle of decoration, you’ll have a spooky sweet treat ready in no time!
Step One: Prepare the Cookies
Begin by lining a baking sheet or cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Step Two: Melt the Chocolate
Next, in separate microwave-safe bowls or a candy melting pot, melt the candy melts until smooth and runny. If using the microwave, cook in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
Step Three: Dip the Sugar Wafer Cookies
Take your sugar wafer cookies and dip one end into the melted chocolate. I did half in orange and the other half in black. Dip each one about halfway. Be sure to gently shake/tap off the excess chocolate before moving to the next step.
Step Four: Decorate the Cookies
Lay the dipped Halloween cookie on the parchment paper-lined baking sheet, then before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the dipped end of the cookie with festive Halloween sprinkles.
Step Five: Let the Cookies Set
Leave the cookies on the parchment paper until the chocolate hardens completely. If you’re in a hurry, pop the baking sheet into the fridge for a few minutes to speed things up.
Recipe Tips and Tricks
- Get Creative: No candy melts? No problem! Use bright white chocolate (not off-white) and color them with oil-based food coloring for fun Halloween colors.
- Piping Fun: For extra decoration, fill a piping bag with melted chocolate or frosting and pipe on spooky designs like spiderwebs or monster faces!
- Make-Ahead Tip: These cookies can be stored in an airtight plastic container for up to 3 days.
Variations and Additions
- Vanilla Wafer Biscuits: Switch out the sugar wafers for vanilla wafer biscuits for a different twist on this Halloween recipe.
- Dark Chocolate Dip: Prefer a richer flavor? Try dipping the cookies in dark chocolate instead of candy melts.
- Drizzle Instead of Dip: Short on time? Drizzle melted chocolate over the cookies instead of dipping for a quick yet spooky look.
