Barely surviving from Monday to Friday and living for the weekend is how a lot of us get by in life. Unfortunately, many people are so drained by their jobs that they are wasting their days off work by sleeping in and binge-watching their favorite shows until it’s time to go back to work on Monday morning.
While this rest is important, there are better ways to spend your weekend that will feel just as restful and will leave you feeling far more fulfilled. Here are 5 fun things to do this weekend.
Have a Foodie Experience
First on our list of fun things to do this weekend is to have a foodie experience. When you’ve been good on your diet for the entire workweek, it’s good for your mind and soul to let loose a little on the weekend and enjoy a treat. Instead of reaching for the Cheetos or another Friday night Chinese takeout, plan something exciting and try out a new restaurant or cuisine with your friends or partner.
Online, you’ll find great restaurants in Branson, MO, or you can use a foodie app to help you look for the best places to eat in your area.
Visit a Market
Instead of your usual Sunday morning grocery run or having your food delivered to your door for the third time this month, why not plan a visit to your local farmer’s market to get some fresh goodies for your fridge and pantry.
This is a great way to support the businesses in your area, save a little cash, spend your day in a different and more interesting way and potentially find some interesting new foods to try.
Most markets will have stalls with fun meals and drinks too, so you can turn your shopping trip into an outing too.
Go For a Hike
If you’re used to working out in the gym, or if you’re not the active type at all, changing it up a little with a hike. Getting in the great outdoors is another fun thing to do this weekend and it’s good for you.
It’s never a bad idea to get outside and spend a little extra time outdoors, move away from your screen and soak up some Vitamin D. Your body will love the movement and your mind will love breaking away from the same old setting of your couch and TV – you’ll never regret focusing on your health.
Plan a Picnic
A picnic is another fun thing to do this weekend. If you’re in the mood for a fun meal with friends but don’t want to overspend on pricey restaurants, plan a picnic in the park with the people you care about.
Each person can contribute some snacks or drinks for sharing amongst everyone, which will make the experience collaborative and far more affordable for everyone. This is another weekend activity where you can spend some time outdoors and relax with people you can have a good time with.
Take a Quick Trip
Next up on our list of fun things to do this weekend is to take a mini vacation. Vacations don’t have to be week-long, thoroughly planned and expensive excursions. Be spontaneous and plan a one-night trip somewhere new (but nearby) to explore another city, try out some new restaurants or catch up with a friend who you don’t get to see very often.
