Kimble Beauty Review – Brazilian Nut & Acai Berry Conditioning Masque and Shower Cap

I participated in a Brand Backer campaign on behalf of Kimble Beauty. Although I received products to try, all opinions are my own.

In my never-ending search for hair care products that will leave my hair soft and silky smooth with picture-perfect curls and no frizz, I have tried quite a few products including oils and masques. Unfortunately I have found that the majority seem to leave my hair feeling over-conditioned, some even to the point to where the curls are weighed down and look more like waves. I have come across one or two that I like, but I am still looking for one that I love.

As one of the most sought after hair stylists in the entertainment industry, Kim Kimble firmly believes that healthy hair and great style should coexist. After years of working with some of the industries hottest celebrities, and the opening of two salons, Kim Kimble created a line of affordable and effective hair care products, tools and accessories known as Kimble Beauty. Recently, as part of a Brand Backer campaign, I got to try some of her products including a bottle of Conditioning Masque and a shower cap with a fun design!

The Kimble Beauty Brazilian Nut and Acai Berry Conditioning Masque can be used as either a regular conditioner or a deep conditioner. I have used it as both, but my favorite way – and the most effective for my hair – is to use it as a deep conditioner. Two or three times a week I will work a small amount through my already washed hair, and let it sit for a good 10 to 15 minutes. The instructions will tell you to apply heat, and I have done this by putting my hair up in the shower cap and using a hair dryer to add heat, but I have also gotten pretty good results with just leaving it in my hair for 10 minutes, then rinsing. It has the most amazing scent, and I love that it rinses right out of my hair instead of my having to rinse over and over. Much to my delight, the masque left my hair silky soft with nicely formed curls and very little frizz. The conditioner retails for $12.99.

Remember that shower cap I mentioned using with the conditioning masque? While I am not an expert of shower caps, I can tell you that this one is much better than your typical clear plastic cap! Made of a durable, waterproof fabric, the Kimble Beauty Kisses Shower Cap has a firmly fitting elastic band around the edges that does of great job of keeping the water out and your hair in. I love the fun and funky design of hot-pink kissy lips on a black background, and the cap is large enough that you can wear it over curlers or to protect your already-styled hair. I would definitely recommend opening it up and letting it air out overnight before using it, as like with many shower caps, it has a noticeable plastic-y scent when you first open it. The shower cap retails for $14.00.

I bet this smells really good. I am a sucker for product packaging, and I love this one - makes me want to use it alone from the product design. Good to know that the conditioning masque doesn't weigh down curls - hate when that happens! I also love when my hair feels soft.

IT's been a long time since I did something like a deep conditioner for my hair. It might help with the frizz.
