The Commuter 2.1 also has a very unique closure system. While most bags come with either velcro or snaplock closures, the Commuter 2.1 uses an exclusive system of magnets, velcro and clips to quietly and securely close the pockets and flap. So if you are in a meeting and need to remove something from your bag, the magnets will allow you to do so quietly.
There are two handles for carrying, a hand grip with a sturdy, plastic insert that is thickly padded for comfort and durability, and a shoulder strap which is also comfortably padded so you can carry it for long periods of time without it digging into your shoulder. The shoulder strap also has an innovative adjustment system that allows you to easily change the length of the strap so it can be also be worn as a cross strap.
On the outside of the bag are two, convenient and easy-to-access pockets that can hold smaller items such as your pens, phone, calculator, small-sized notebooks and more. These pockets use velcro to close securely. On the backside of the Commuter 2.1 is a large zippered pocket with several more internal pockets and slots for added organization and storage space.
When you lift up the flap, you will find two more zippered pockets inside that are perfect for cords and adapters. There is even a removable key tether so can you keep your keys secure! Inside the main pocket is still another slot where you can keep folders or stray papers, and my favorite part, a completely removable, padded laptop sleeve!
The main compartment and the flap are both lined with a PVC-free liner that is waterproof and can easily be wiped clean. The material on the very bottom of the bag is also waterproof to provide protection if you ever sit it down on a damp surface. Plus, it is padded for even more protection.
Now here’s the cool part. Each Commuter 2.1 is fully customizable so it can be made to your exact specification. When you chose your bag, simply click on the word ‘customize’ and you will then be taken to the Customizer where you can choose from several different fabrics and around 50 different colors. First you pick the exterior fabric and color, then do the same for the binding, and then you get to choose your custom label.
