Natural beauty – Sibu Beauty
The Sea Buckthorn Berry has been used for more than twenty eight centuries for issues pertaining to the aging process in health and beauty. This berry, found high in the Tibetan Himalaya’s has been used for treating and soothing damaged skin, healing wounds and as a part of people’s diets. It contains over 190 bio active nutrients including vitamins A,C,E and K, minerals, antioxidants, Omega fatty acids and much more. One of the most important Omega fatty acids for healthy skin, Omega 7, is found in abundance in these berries, and is known to aid in the production of collagen, a function which diminishes as we age resulting in older-looking skin. Studies have shown that Omega 7 helps improve membrane function (gastrointestinal, urinary, cardiovascular), skin and tissue hydration and elasticity.
Sibu Beauty has created a complete line of Sea Buckthorn Berry beauty products (aff. link) to help your skin, nails and hair both from the inside-out and outside-in. Their products are all-natural, wild-crafted, gluten-free, and contain no wheat, sodium or yeast. They have no preservatives, and all are Paraban-free and Cruelty-free. The company practices Fair Trade and produces the finest products with the least amount of impact on the planet by using environmentally responsible packaging and literature and recycled plastics.
Each Sibu product is packed with the highest levels of the beneficial nutrients from the berry. They offer cleansers, moisturizers, serums, masks and other topical treatments as well as dietary supplements. I received three of their skin care products, the Exfoliating Scrub, the Balancing Facial Cleanser and the Repair and Protect Nourishing Facial Cream, and I have fallen in love!
Sibu’s Sea Buckthorn Balancing Facial Cleanser (aff link)comes in a 4 ounce bottle. The first thing I noticed about the clear, golden-colored cleanser was its scent. It has a fresh scent that I can only describe as smelling like what it is made of, berries. It took 1 to 2 pumps to provide enough cleanser to clean my entire face. It has tiny micro-particles all through the cleanser which gently exfoliate while cleaning your face. It is a non-foaming formula, but it does provide a nice lather that leaves your skin looking fresh and radiant, and feeling so soft. I noticed within the first week of use a large difference in the appearance of my skin. The tone looked more even and my skin felt so much softer, it was much healthier looking from just the week before. The cleanser is a naturally antibacterial formula and it cleans without compromising your skin’s natural protective nutrients. A lot of cleansers I have used in the past leave my face clean, yet feeling tight and dried out. This one does not, it leaves my skin clean, soft and moisturized.
PROS: it gives a deep clean removing makeup and other dirt and oils, yet is gentle and non-irritating
CONS: I had to rinse several times before I felt like it was completely washed away. This is most likely due to the fact that it is all natural.
Sibu’s Sea Buckthorn Exfoliating Scrub (aff. link)has got to be my new absolute favorite! It too has a smell reminiscent of berries and apricot which makes sense since those are the main exfoliating ingredients. I only had to use a small amount to cover my entire face. It has a nice thick creamy feeling with plenty of exfoliating particle. Just apply a little bit on your finger tips and gently rub in a circular motion around your whole face. It rinses away immediately and leaves skin incredibly soft and supple. It was not too harsh, nor did it irritate my skin.
PROS: it quickly and effectively removes dead, dull surface skin cells, rinses away quickly and leaves skin soft and looking healthy and radiant.
CONS: Absolutely none…just be careful not to rub too hard!
Sibu’s Sea Buckthorn Repair and Protect Nourishing Facial Cream (aff link)also contains all-natural ingredients and has a very pleasant scent. It is not too thick, nor is it too thin and watery feeling. This cream prom
otes tissue healing and recovery and helps restore blemished skin to its natural state. It is also supposed to help rejuvenate sun-damaged skin. I know that since I have started using it my face is soft, radiant and moisturized. Like the other products, it only takes 1 or 2 pumps to provide enough lotion for my face and neck. It is immediately absorbed and does not leave a greasy, shiny look or feeling. On the bottle it says it is a daytime facial cream, but I prefer to use it both at night and in the morning.
PROS: absorbs quickly leaving skin soft and moisturized. It does not irritate my skin nor clog my pores like some moisturizers tend to do resulting in the occasional breakout.
CONS: not a one!
My opinion? An excellent beauty product line! I am extremely pleased with the results, and I as mentioned before, can see an improvement in the appearance and texture of my skin since I began using Sibu’s products. I highly recommend them to anyone. Sibu’s products are good for all skin types; at first I was nervous about using it because my skin is very sensitive to certain products, but I have had nothing but positive results!
A complete list of Sibu’s products can be found and purchased on their website. While the prices may seem a bit steep, the results are very much worth every penny! Also keep in mind, in my experience, it only takes a small amount each time you use one.
