The Original Reusable Bags for Snacks and Sandwiches- Since 2003
If you have children, or even if you don’t, and you pack lunches for work or school everyday, then you know how many of those handy little plastic bags get used, and then thrown away, every day. A lot! That’s a lot of trash in the local landfill and a lot of money spent, too.
Thanks to Snack Taxi, there is another option, one that is a lot more eco-friendly and just as easy! Snack Taxi made their first reusable snack and sandwich bags in 2003, and there have been tons more made since.
Created by a mother who got tired of the amount of plastic being thrown away from her 3 children’s lunches (over 500 per year), she came up with a much better way! All of her products are made right here in the USA, by local workers at the shop in rural Massachusetts.
Not only do they make reusable snack and sandwich bags, but they also make specially labeled sacks for organic snacks, gluten-free snacks and nut-free snacks; as well as napkins, bread sacks, aprons and produce sacks.
All their products are durable and well-made, and they come in a great selection of bright, cheerful colors and stylish designs.
I had the chance to review a sandwich sack and snack sack in the — love the name! —Bite Me pattern. The snack sack is 6”H by 4.5” W and is the perfect size for chips, cookies, pretzels, vegetables, fruits and more. It has a simple loop and hook closure system.
The sandwich sack is 7.5” W by 6”H, which is perfect for a large sandwich or even a bagel. It also closes by a loop and hook system.
Both the snack sack and sandwich sack are lined with nylon and can be cleaned by simply wiping with a damp sponge or throwing them into the washing machine. Both are very well made, roomy and serve their purpose.
Snack Taxi products can be found at locations through out the US and Canada, as well as online. You can purchase directly through the Snack Taxi website, as well as find a list of retailers by state.
I find their products to be very reasonably priced considering that one reusable sack has the potential to save you from using over 1000 plastic snack/sandwich bags! The snack sacks sell for around $7.95, and the sandwich sacks for $8.95.
Well worth the cost to help do your part in protecting the environment!
