One of my favorite treats as a child was when our dad would make homemade ice cream. It always tasted so much better than the store-bought brands and was such fun to watch. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try Ice Cream Magic, a personal ice cream maker, I couldn't wait to see how well it worked.

What Is Ice Cream Magic?
As Seen on TV's Ice Cream Magic is the perfect gift idea for kids. Designed to resemble a giant ice cream cone, this cute ice cream maker can make cold and delicious ice cream in just three minutes, and all it takes is a couple of ingredients and a little bit of arm power.

With Ice Cream Magic you can make whatever flavor ice cream you prefer, and you can even make it fat-free, sugar-free or even dairy-free. Plus, you know exactly what ingredients you are using, so you don't have to worry about chemicals such as additives and preservatives.
What Does Ice Cream Magic Come With?
Ice Cream Magic has 4 pieces to it – the ice chamber (cone/cup part), the metal freezing ingredients bowl, the ingredients lid, and the cover lid (looks like swirled ice cream).
The ice cream maker also comes with a cute little spoon and a recipe book that shows you how to create 12 delicious flavors using just a few common ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen!

Ice Cream Magic Instructions
To make fresh ice cream with Ice Cream Magic you will first add ice, salt and water into the ice chamber (cone/cup) part to activate a deep freeze.
You will then place the metal ingredients bowl on top and fill it with heavy whipping cream, sugar and flavoring according to the recipe book.
Then you cover the metal bowl securely with the ingredients lid, top it off with the cover lid and shake, shake, shake.
It says that in three minutes you will have thick, creamy ice cream. And if you want it even thicker, just shake it some more until it reaches your desired consistency.
It makes enough ice cream for one large scoop which you can eat right out of the cone using the included matching Ice Cream Magic Spoon!
Below are the Ice Cream Magic instructions and ingredients for strawberry ice cream and chocolate ice cream.

Ice Cream Magic Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe

Does It Really Work?
Honestly, the three-minute claim was pushing it a bit. The first time I tried it, it came out thinner than I prefer. So, I put the lid back on and continued to shake for another few minutes until it was the perfect thickness for me. There are some tips included inside the recipe booklet, and one mentioned using crushed ice as opposed to cubes.
So, the second time I tried it, I crushed some ice and it worked even better! The third time I tried it, I put the metal bowl and lid in the freezer for an hour or so, and 4-5 minutes gave me the perfect consistency.
I also have to admit that my arm got tired, but it was worth it to be rewarded with my own homemade ice cream.
Kids, however, will have a blast jumping around, dancing, shaking and shimmying to make their frozen treat. It's a great hands-on science experiment, too!

This looks like a great product. I love homemade ice cream. 🙂
I love your idea but Is there any way to make ice cream by your self like not needing the ice cream cup
There is.
Ever since I was little, my mom
would give my sister and I a big
ziploc filled with ice, and a smaller
one inside the big one that was filled
with yogurt, sugar, and vanilla.
We would roll it around on our hill,
and shake it until we were tired.
Then we would open up the smaller
bag and voila! it was ice cream.
Cool!
I used to do the same thing,
Yes!! I remember doing that as a kid as well. It was always SO good!
We were very disappointed. All we received was the cup and the top. It did not come in a cute display box as advertised. And, more disappointing, it did not come with any instructions.
That's so odd! I was sent mine from a PR Agency, but OI don't see how that would make a difference. I would write the company and let them know that you did not receive the instruction manual.
