Christmas Wreath Donuts Ingredients

This simple Christmas treat recipe calls for just 3 basic ingredients to transform simple powdered mini donuts into whimsical Christmas Wreath Donuts. Get ready to add a sprinkle of holiday enchantment to these treats and watch the magic of the season come alive in your kitchen!

To save time, I used store-bought mini powdered donuts. However, you could always make your favorite homemade donut recipe and use those instead.

These holiday donuts are quite easy to make. I was able to finish 12 of them in just 8 minutes! However, you do need some patience to make these.

I had some trouble at first putting the holly leaf and holly berry sprinkles on the donuts because they are so small. They kept getting stuck to the gel icing on my fingers, too.

However, once I figured out the best way to do it, things went a lot faster. I used a toothpick to add the icing to the back of the sprinkles. You may find an easier way that works for you.

Step One: Prep

Arrange the powdered mini donuts on a clean surface, creating a ready-to-decorate setup.

Step Two: Choose Your Technique for Icing

There are two ways to go about adding the icing which will act as glue for the sprinkles. Decide what works best for you for adding the icing.

  • Toothpick Technique: Use a toothpick to apply a small amount of icing to the back of each sprinkle.
  • Direct Icing: Place small dots of icing directly on the donuts where you plan to add the sprinkles.

Step Three: Add the Sprinkles

Attach the holly berry sprinkles to the donuts, either on the icing dots or with the icing from the toothpick.

Step Four: Let it Set

Once all the sprinkles are in place, allow some time for the gel icing to dry, ensuring everything stays securely attached.

And you are done! Your Christmas Wreath Donuts are ready to be displayed and enjoyed!

If you have kids, this would be a cinch for them since their fingers are so small. You could also probably use a small food paintbrush and a pair of tweezers, too.

Additionally, these holly and berry sprinkles look a bit bigger/thicker than the ones I used, so they make be easier to use.
