About Naked Nutrition

Naked Nutrition is a brand known for its commitment to clean, transparent ingredients. Their entire product line, including the Naked Casein, is free from unnecessary additives, artificial sweeteners, and fillers. I love that they keep things simple!

Their philosophy is all about helping people make healthier choices without the confusion of long ingredient lists and hidden chemicals. Their casein protein powder is no exception. It’s made with only one ingredient, micellar casein from US farms, and it aligns perfectly with my goal to maintain muscle mass as I enter my early 50s.

What Is Casein?

Casein protein is a protein found in milk, it’s actually what gives milk its white color. You can also find it in foods like yogurt, cheese, and even in infant formulas and dietary supplements.

Many athletes use casein protein to help rebuild muscle and support muscle recovery, while others take it as a convenient protein supplement. It works by providing the body with all of the amino acids needed to build muscle.

One of the great things about casein is that it digests more slowly than other proteins, which can help reduce appetite and increase feelings of fullness. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to maintain muscle mass, prevent muscle breakdown, or manage hunger throughout the day.

Why Naked Casein?

When it comes to the food and supplements I use, simple and clean are key. I don’t want a bunch of unnecessary ingredients and fillers, especially chemicals with names I can’t even pronounce. Naked Nutrition keeps things simple – just pure, quality nutrition.

Naked Casein is made from high-quality micellar casein. There are no added sugars and no unnecessary additives, artificial sweeteners, or fillers. In fact, each serving has 26 grams of protein, 0 grams of sugar, 0 grams of carbs, and only 110 calories.

Unlike whey protein, which absorbs quickly, micellar casein provides a sustained release of amino acids, making it ideal for muscle recovery and preventing muscle breakdown

Health Benefits of Naked Casein for Women

For women in their 40s and 50s, keeping muscle mass can be a challenge. Hormonal changes, along with the natural aging process, can lead to muscle loss so we need to be proactive. That’s where casein protein comes in.

Naked Casein provides a steady stream of amino acids to help preserve lean muscle mass. This slow-digesting protein is particularly beneficial if you want to keep your muscles nourished overnight or between meals. It is also great for after workouts to help with muscle recovery.

My Personal Experience

Naked Casein comes in a large 5-pound jug, and unlike some other protein powders, this container is filled almost to the very top. There is also a scoop for easy measuring, so no guessing how much to use.

I’ve been adding Naked Casein to my morning smoothies for nearly two weeks now. At first, I tried mixing it with just water, following the directions by adding two rounded scoops to 10 ounces of water. I let it blend for about 30 seconds, and while it blended just fine with no gritty texture, I honestly did not like the taste at all when mixed with water alone.

So, not wanting to give up on it, I did some reading and decided to try mixing it up in a smoothie. I am glad I did because the difference in taste is night and day! Now I blend it with Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, and sometimes a splash of almond milk, and it tastes so much better!

Something else I like is that it also keeps me full until lunchtime. Before, I would always need a snack mid-morning, but now I feel satisfied until my next meal.

Some people do have some mild side effects with casein, mainly digestive. I have noticed some stomach issues, but the less yogurt I use in the smoothie the less issues I have.

Whether you’re into fitness or just trying to stay healthy as you age, this product ticks all the boxes for me. I’m all about making smart, healthy choices, and Naked Nutrition makes it easy.
