FATHER’S DAY GIFT GUIDE SUGGESTION

Many of you may remember seeing my recent review of those cute and cuddly therapeutic treasures called Thermal-Aid Zoo animals.  While they are the perfect solution to your child’s ouchies, aches and pains, I started wondering if Thermal Aid made anything for us big kids.  Sure enough, they do!

SAFETY UPDATE AS OF JANUARY 26, 2014 regarding the Thermal Aid Zoo Animals: Unfortunately, while browsing through my newsfeed on Facebook, it came to my attention that there have been some incidents where the Thermal Aid Zoo Animals have been known to start burning on their extremities (where the corn filling is not used) while in the microwave.

Fumes and singing have occurred. While there is a warning on the tag not to let any part of the animal touch the sides of the microwave, I do not know if this is what has occurred in these cases or not. Please be aware of this, and read more reviews about this on Amazon at https://amzn.to/1lf7jkp.

I cannot in good faith continue to recommend this product (Thermal Aid Zoo Animals) until this issue has been addressed by the company. I will keep you updated!

And once again, I was given the opportunity to review the awesome answer to adult-sized ailments, Thermal -Aid Heating and Cooling Packs.

ThermalAid2

Thermal-Aid uses a specially treated and processed all natural corn product which safely retains both heat and cold for long amounts of time.  The kernels are very hard, yet not at all uncomfortable, and they resist the mold, fungi and foul odors that are often associated with natural heating/cooling products.  The covers are made from 100% all natural cotton, and are easy to clean.

The Thermal-Aid heating and cooling packs are available in two different styles, the Medium Sectional and the Tube. Both can be heated in the microwave for about 2 to 3 minutes depending on the power of your microwave, and will retain heat for just as long, if not longer, as similar products that are not made with all natural products.  Heated packs are perfect for muscle cramps, aches and sprains, arthritis, carpal tunnel, neck pain and more.

ThermalAid3

For ailments such as headaches, migraines, fever and flu symptoms, put your Thermal-Aid pack in the freezer for about 5 hours, and enjoy the relief of long-lasting cold without the moisture, dampness and burn of a cold compress.  No more messing with wrapping a cold pack in a towel or cloth in order to avoid discomfort, because the cover of the Thermal-Aid pack is comfortable to the touch and won’t cause that uncomfortable burn.  The cold pack also works great for cooling down on a hot summer’s day!

ThermalAid

Having been in accident almost 10 years ago, I constantly suffer from neck and shoulder pain.  I do not want to rely on any type of pill, so my Thermal-Aid packs are perfect for providing much-needed relief.  Both packs are filled with the corn kernels, yet they are still able to bend and conform to fit against your body perfectly.

ThermalAid4

They also have a very pleasant weight.  You know how when you use a heating pad, say on your abdomen for cramps, and it just won’t lay flat enough nor is it pressing hard enough against you to actually provide direct contact?  Well, the weight of the Thermal-Aid pack is just enough to provide complete contact, therefore allowing you to get all of the heat, without it being uncomfortably heavy and making the cramps worse.

ThermalAid5

I love how I don’t have to keep getting up and sticking the Thermal-Aid pack back in the microwave as often as I have had to do with other packs or even with a damp washcloth or hand towel.  And when you freeze the Thermal-Aid packs, even the coldness lasts for quite a while.  The heat/cold is also distributed evenly throughout the pack.

The Thermal-Aid Medium Sectional is the perfect size to fit behind your back and shoulders like a pillow, or across your abdomen.  It is shaped like one of those bathtub pillows that suction to the back of your tub.  It can also be wrapped around an arm or leg to help reduce swelling from a sprain or twist.  The sectional is available in small, medium and large, plus there is also a small single pack.

ThermalCare6

The Thermal-Aid Tube is long and just like the name implies, shaped like a tube.  It is about 5″ by 22.5″, the perfect size to drape around the back of my neck and hang down on my shoulders.  It also works well draped over your belly or an arm or leg. The amount of relief it provides is amazing!

ThermalAid7

With Father’s Day coming up soon, Thermal-Aid would be the perfect gift to help Dad relax after a long day at work, as well as provide relief from any aches, pains or discomfort due to injury or illness!  You can purchase his Thermal-Aid packs directly through the Thermal-Aid website.  You can find both the Thermal-Aid Tube and the Heating & Cooling Pack Medium Sectional on Amazon.com as well as at Costco, CVS and various other natural food and natural product stores around the country.
