Television is in the best place it has been in decades. In terms of content and technology, we are going to see some major leaps in the next few years. So what exactly is on the horizon? Don’t worry if you’re not a technophile or a television addict. We’ll fill you in on what’s coming in the near future.

4K Television
Remember when widescreen was the big new thing? Then high-definition? Then 3D? Now it’s going to be 4K resolutions, or ultra high-definition to be exact. What’s the benefit of 4K? It’s four times the resolution of high-definition. That means more details, better colors, and a cleaner image. With a lot of films and television shows being shot in higher than standard high-definition, when 4K fully comes onto the market it’ll be a cinema-like experience. It’ll be like your favorite actors are in the room with you. 4K Blu Rays will probably be the first ultra high-resolution media we see. We’ll be seeing 4K broadcasts before you know it though.

New Deals & Better Content
The internet has chipped into television’s market a little. As a result television providers are looking to make their services more attractive again. With innovative home entertainment technology, providers are looking to pull people away from their laptops and get them in front of the TV screens again. Now has never been a better time to start watching television again. The quality of the content is rising like never before. Talent from the film industry is flocking to television because of its capacity for long-form storytelling and rising production values. Not only that, but there are more sports being broadcast on television than ever before. Whatever your favor of sports fan, they’ll be well served.

Streaming
The main problem with streaming is the tiny screen on your computer. It’s fine for watching in bed. Sometimes you just want to sit back and watch things on a big screen though. Not to worry. There are plenty of services and devices that allow you to stream to your television. You can stream directly from your laptop to the television with a dongle or set-top box. Streaming services are also available natively through some televisions and television service providers. Even if you don’t have a computer, you can still stream great shows and films right to your television. With faster and better internet on the way, the quality of the streams will increase with no negative impact to the watching experience.

Wider, Flatter Televisions
Televisions used to be quite big. If you think back to the days of the huge CRT televisions, you’d be amazed at how far we’ve come. Even early flat screen televisions are looking huge compared to the new ones coming in. We’re going flatter than ever before. With new display technologies such as OLED, we’re getting a clearer, crisper image from a much smaller television. It’s a great time to own a television right now. In a few years time though, it’ll be even better.

Well I hate to say it, but television will always be a way my family unwinds. My husband is a sports watching fanatic and I've been known stream shows on my tablet and watch them with headphones.

I'm visiting from BlogLovin, found your post in my feed. I'd love if you stopped by sometime.
