As a work at home mom I am always seeking ways to make some extra money.  For a long time I was doing online surveys, and while there are still a few sites I use on a regular basis, these can often get boring quickly

As part of my ongoing search for new ways to make money working at home, I recently came across and signed up for a site called the WhatUsersDo – Panel  which is the testing panel for WhatUsersDo & Why They Do It, a site that tests online and interactive content, like websites, for businesses so they can see how real people use their website.

WhatUsersDo – Panel members are the ones who provide that data by visiting the websites and completing “tasks” while your thoughts and actions (screen movements) are being recorded using your computer’s microphone and their online software. Don’t worry, your face is never recorded, only your voice and your online screen movements, and you have complete control over when to start and stop recording.  Only WhatUsersDo – Panel employees and their clients will watch the video recordings.

What You Need to Become a WhatUsersDo – Panel Member

No expertise is required to become a member, so don’t fret if you don’t have a degree in computer sciences or anything like that. As long as you can follow directions, navigate a website, speak English clearly and precisely, and you have the needed tools, you are good to go.

Since their service is internet browser-based, you will need a broadband connection, a computer (PC, Netbook or Mac) with a recent browser installed (IE 7 and above; Firefox 2 and above, Safari 3 and above and Chrome-PC only) and at least 1GB RAM, plus a microphone (built-in or separate) to record your thoughts as you go.  You will also need a PayPal account so you can receive payments.

How To Become A WhatUsersDo – Panel Member

First you need to create an account. This consists of just a few simple steps including filling out your contact and payment information which takes less than 5 minutes. Once you have those complete, your next step is to take a very easy practice test. This takes less than three minutes and is similar to how other tests will be performed.  They give you a specific task to perform on a website to which they provide the link.  You simply visit the site and complete the task, voicing your thoughts throughout the entire process. When the task is completed, you submit the test and that’s it.

Once you’ve been officially approved as a tester you will be emailed each time a new test is available. Tests can include all sorts of tasks from “Look for a holiday” to “Find a local plumber”.  Most tests usually last up to 20 minutes, but this can vary.  The most important thing to remember is to SAY what you are thinking as you navigate the website.

Payment Amounts as a WhatUsersDo – Panel Member

You can make up to $8 for each test you complete.  The amount of tests you are sent varies as it depends on the clients and their needs. You can also earn money by referring your friends.  For each person you refer that successfully completes their first client test, you will get paid $2. All payments are made using PayPal.

So if you are looking for a new and fun way to make some extra money from the comfort of your home, sign up for WhatUsersDo – Panel today! What are your thoughts about this service?
