Halloween is all about tricks and treats, and a Halloween BOO Kit makes a faBOOlous treat for friends and neighbors! Have you ever heard of BOO It Forward? In case you haven't, it's when someone secretly leaves a BOO Kit filled with tasty treats at your door. Then you get to BOO someone else, and so on! It's a spook-tacularly fun Halloween idea that's filled with treats and no tricks (see what I did there, lol?).

Last year I was surprised when I arrived home to discover that we'd been BOO'd! So this year I decided to start the fun myself. I made a few different BOO Kits since there are two families I want to treat. One is for a family that just moved in. What a spook-tacular way to welcome them to the neighBOOhood! The other is for my next door neighbor who recently lost his wife. I bet you can't guess who's keeping the third one! 😉
These adorable Halloween BOO Kits are incredibly quick and easy to make. They are all based around the same idea, so you have lots of flexibility. I choose to make a Jack o' Lantern, a ghost and Frankenstein, but you could easily do a vampire, black cat, goblin, witch or even a bat. And they are easy enough that even the kids can help!
So get ready to see how to make these spook-tacular BOO Kits and Let’s do Some Friendly Neighborhood BOO'ing!

How To Make Halloween Monsters BOO Kit
Putting a BOO Kit together is super simple and you only need a few things. One of which, of course, is candy.
To get the biggest bang for my buck, I stopped by Walmart and purchased the MARS® Spider-Man Chocolate/Sugar Variety Bag in the seasonal aisle. This bag is filled with Skittles® Original Fun Size (my favorite), Starburst® Fun Size, SNICKERS® Fun Size, TWIX® Fun Size, MILKY WAY® Fun Size, and 3 MUSKETEERS® Fun Size - and it's only available at Walmart.

And speaking of Spider-Man, get the Spider-Man Homecoming DVD & Blu-Ray on October 17th at Walmart!
I was also able to get everything else I needed, including the tissue paper and googly eyes, at Walmart as well - one stop shopping at its finest!

Instructions to Make Halloween Monster BOO Kit
Begin by cutting a strip of white, orange, and green construction paper to fit the width and height of each container.
Next, wrap the paper around the container, securing with hot glue. From here, follow the instructions for each monster container below, cutting out their individual facial features and any other features from the glitter foam sheets and the leftover construction paper scraps.
For the ghost, simply cut out two eyes and a mouth from the black glitter foam. Attach them to the container with hot glue.

For Frankenstein, cut out the hair from a strip of black construction paper and use the scissors to make some uneven fringe on the top side. Next, glue it around the top of the container making sure the top part sticks up at least an inch from the top lip of the container. Use a black permanent marker to add his nose, mouth, and the stitches on his face. Cut a pair of ears and bolts for his neck from construction paper then glue on. Last, but not least, glue on a pair of googly eyes.

To make the Jack o' Lantern, simply cut out two eyes, a nose and mouth from the black glitter foam. Use the hot glue to attach them.

Once the containers are decorated, stuff a piece of matching colored tissue paper inside each one. And now comes the REALLY sweet part!

Fill the container with MARS® candy and other fun things you think your neighbors might enjoy. I decided to include some cute jack o' lantern stickers and treat bags, as well as a card welcoming them to the neighborhood - all of which are from American Greetings.

Last but not least, print the You’ve Been BOO’d Printable card that explains what BOO’ing is and how to BOO It Forward.

Cut, fold, and tape the openings together then tuck it in the container. Tip: I printed mine at 50% so it would fit in the container. And that's it!

So there you have it! A spooktastic way to spread the Halloween spirit. So go create your own Halloween BOO Kits and BOO It Forward!
