Laundry is the most boring and repetitive chore ever, and worst of all, you can never escape it – it’s always there. The minute you get one load of laundry washed and dry, another load needs dealing with.

No one likes doing laundry, especially when the pile starts to build up and up. But the truth is unless you want your family to walk around in smelly, dirty clothes, doing laundry is a must. Invest in a color-coded laundry sorter

Oh yes, these exist, and they are amazing. If you want to make doing laundry quicker and easier, investing in a color-coded laundry sorter is a must. They’re fantastic because instead of having all the laundry in one basket, it’s pre-sorted for you. So that when you come to doing the washing, all you have to do is pick darks, colors or whites and pop them in the machine.

You’ll find various shops that sell these laundry baskets, just make sure to opt for a quality design. You’ll find that cheaper ones won’t last or work as well, and so will cost you more in the long run. That’s why, it’s a good idea to opt for a quality design – trust me, it’s worth the investment.

Have Set Laundry Days
Don’t make the mistake of only doing laundry when the basket piles up, spread it out and it’ll be easier to cope with. Set yourself two days a week when you do laundry – Mondays and Fridays tend to work well and get it all done on those days.

Having set laundry days will make keeping on top of your family’s laundry easier and more manageable. Plus, by setting laundry days, your family will know that if they want something washing, they need to ensure it’s in the washing basket.

Don’t be afraid to get some help
One area that many of us struggle with is keeping clothes that need hand or dry cleaning clean, as it’s a lot more effort to get them washed. Instead of spending time heading to your local dry cleaners, why not contact a local dry cleaning pickup and delivery service?

These services will come and collect dirty items, take them to be cleaned, and will then return them to you. By hiring a service to collect and drop off your dirty clothes, you’ll save not only time, but also petrol money.

Put Items Away Immediately
As soon as your washing is clean and dry, fold it up and take it to the correct room. For younger children, put their washing away for them. However, for older kids, ask them to put their washing away themselves. Unless you want to have to deal with putting away your kid’s clothes forever, you need to teach them to put their own items away.

Want to make it easier to keep on top of your family’s laundry? Take note of the tips above, and you can!

What are some of the ways you make doing the laundry easier in your home? I’d love to know!
