Made of durable melamine and completely PVC-free, each set comes with a tray with 4 compartments, a bowl, mug, fork, and spoon. Both the bowl and mug can rest conveniently in two of the compartments helping to prevent knock-overs and spills, and to make storage easy.
Children’s Dish Set Individual Piece Size
Size wise, the fork and spoon measure approximately 5″ making these utensils the perfect size for tiny hands and mouths. Plus each one is gently curved to help make grasping easier. The tray measures around 10.75″ in length and 8.75″ in width. The bowl is approximately 6.25″ in diameter at its widest by 1.75″ high, and the cup is around 2.75″ in diameter by 2.50″ tall. All the ideal size for children ages 1 year and up.
Caring for Your Melamine Children’s Dish Set
While the set is dishwasher safe, it is not microwave or oven/stove top safe. If you have not used melamine before, it is actually quite strong and durable, although it can break if dropped on an extra hard surface. You also need to be careful when serving foods that are high in carotene such as carrots, or those seasoned with spices like paprika and curry, as these can stain the dishes.

My niece is just now in the process of learning to feed herself. I cannot wait to see her face when she gets her very own set of dishes! I got her the Birdie set which is absolutely adorable. Each piece is very well made, the colors are bright and vivid, and with the tray she can even take it into the den to watch her favorite show while eating. I also love the fact that the set is made of melamine, is PVC-free, and is pretty much unbreakable. It’s the perfect first children’s dish set.
