I was engaged by Cricket Wireless to visit a local store and write about my experience.
After four years of having the same phone, it’s way past time for a new one. My old smartphone no longer meets my needs, so for several months now, I’ve been looking for one that does. And since getting a new phone is a big investment, it’s something that I take seriously.
Having learned that certain of my local Cricket wireless stores are under new management, I decided to check out their phones and plans.

Huge Selection of Smartphones
Choosing the right phone can be overwhelming, but at the Cricket Wireless store, their team members are there to help make the process as easy and enjoyable as possible. When I go into the store, I’m greeted warmly, and the staff is always able to answer my questions, even if I’m not (yet) a Cricket customer.

Not only do they make me feel at home, but Cricket also offers a great variety of premium smartphones — all of which will keep you connected for less on Cricket’s reliable nationwide 4G LTE network.**** You can select one of four FREE 4G LTE smartphones!* Note that this requires service activation (in store up to $25), with a qualified plan (min. $30/mo.), port-in, and a new service line. The first month’s service charge and applicable sales tax are due at sale (see pricing details below).

They also have a wonderful selection of cases and accessories.

Cricket Wireless Plans
One of my biggest pet peeves with my current carrier — aside from being locked in a contract — is that I am practically paying more in monthly fees than I am for the cost of the service! When it comes to plans, Cricket has very simple, straightforward plan pricing starting at just $30 per month!** I also found out I can add my family too, for just $20/mo. per line with 5 lines (after group save discount applied).*** Best of all? There are no annual contracts, and monthly service fees are already included! It makes it easy to stay connected with all your friends and family!
Speaking of staying connected, Cricket’s nationwide network offers more 4G LTE coverage than T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, or Boost!****
I know now that Cricket’s goal is to make your mobile phone experience easy and bring simplicity to what can be quite a confusing process. They have superior customer service — available to help with all your needs — and it looks like I’ll be doing some serious thinking about making the switch to Cricket. So make sure to visit a Cricket store near you!

Thank you for this good read! I need to buy a new phone soon, so this was very helpful!
You're welcome!
Oh yeah I need a new phone too with a good network provider. But I dont think I can do it at the moment, been busy all these days.
With a family of 8, I can see how! Check it out as soon as you find the time.
Yes - not having a contract is always a great benefit. I will not go with a company that locks you into a contract or tacks on hidden fees.
I won't anymore, that's for sure! That's why Cricket is such a great choice - contract free!
Looks like an awesome deal that would be hard to refuse. I am still locked in a contract with my current provider, but I will take Cricket Wireless' offer into serious consideration once I am done with my contract.
I am counting down the days until our current contract is over, and then I will not sign another one!
How I wished there's Cricket service in our place too. I need a really reliable wireless connection and fast speed internet for my online activities.
They are expanding daily, so hopefully one will be in your area soon! Just last year there was only one store here, now they have several.
I'm not a big fan of cellphones but I like the concept of one stop shopping. Having a budget alternative network providers is awesome, in my opinion!
I completely agree - you just can't beat one-stop shopping or great deals!
This sounds like an awesome deal. Having a god wireless connection is so important these days. I know I can feel handicapped without a good connection.
I feel the exact same way!
I'm locked into a contract for the next year and a half, but when it's up I will definitely be looking into Cricket's wireless service, it sounds like a great deal!
It really does! I cannot wait until we are out of ours!
This is what we're thinking of doing when our son is ready for a cell phone. That way I can control how much is on it and he can still have a awesome phone.
Great idea!
UUUUGH!!! My phone bill is over $300 per month and I need some reprieve. I also need a new phone. I'm totally checking out Cricket Wireless!
Yes! This is why we are leaving as soon as our contract is over!
My family and I should look into Cricket Wireless. I am so tired of paying so much for our current plan.
I am right there with you!
I am currently shopping for a new cell phone and plan because I am so tired of my phone company!! This was a great and thorough article, thank you for sharing!
You're welcome! I totally understand! Let me know if you decide to go with them and if so what you think!
This seems cool, and much better compared our who have poor internet services. Thanks for sharing! I assume this is not available for overseas.
Hi Blair. I am not 100% sure, but I do know they offer several international calling plans where you can call, text, picture message etc. to many different countries. But as far as having stores in those countries, I am honestly not sure. I believe I saw where it said the calls must originate from the US, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands. I'm sorry I don't know more. Perhaps give their customer service number a call at 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538). Let me know if you find out, and I will add it to my post.
We have been thinking about switching up our phone carriers. I'm going to have to consider cricket now!
You really should look into it. They have lots of great options and plans.
I have heard of Cricket Wireless but never looked into it. They sound reasonable. Maybe next time my service is up I will take a closer look.
Do! I think you'll be impressed!
Wow Cricket seems awesome! It is so much more affordable than Verizon!!
Oh yes, much more affordable! And no contract either!!
I wonder if Cricket would work where I live. I am having trouble with services.
They have very good coverage, and while I am not sure about your exact city or town, I'm sure you could either look for a store near you, or call their customer service number to find out ( 1-800-CRICKET (274-2538)). I think it's worth looking into for sure.
wow, that's really good to know! I've been thinking of switching my cellphone provider because they've been charging me high lately...must be those hidden fees.. Thanks for sharing!
Yes, they can really get you with those fees! Definitely check out Cricket!
I’ve never tried Cricket, thank's for the information.
You're welcome! Thanks for stopping by!
My daughter uses Cricket Wireless, and I have Straight Talk. I pay less for both of our smartphones than I originally paid for just my phone under Sprint, so I'm glad I made the switch.
That's wonderful! Isn't it crazy how much some of these companies charge?! It's good to know there are other options out there that work just as well (if not better), for less money! Does your daughter like being with Cricket?
