Growing up one of my favorite cereals was Cheerios. Every morning my sister and I would eat a bowl for breakfast, and then in the afternoon we would create a snack with them. At that time there were only two flavors, Original and Honey Nut, but today there are all sorts of flavors – and that means there are all sorts of tasty treats you can make! One of my favorite flavors is the Chocolate Cheerios, and while they taste awesome in a bowl of milk, they taste even better in this gluten free Chocolate Cheerios Candy Bars recipe!

Gluten Free Chocolate Cheerios Candy Bars
Here’s What You Need:
- 1 package (14 ounces) caramels
- 1/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup peanut butter, divided into 1/2 and 1/4
- 4 cups Gluten Free Chocolate Cheerios
- 1/2 cup salted peanuts
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
Tip: I do not suggest using low-fat or generic brand peanut better with this recipe. It tastes A LOT better if you use regular, name brand peanut butter!
Here’s What To Do:
- Begin by adding the caramels, water and 1/2 cup of peanut butter to a large, microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 45 seconds, then stir. Microwave for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes longer or until completely melted.
- Next, add the Chocolate Cheerios and the peanuts; stirring until completely combined. Then spread the mixture into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. pan; set aside.
- In a second microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips, butter and remaining peanut butter on high for 25 to 50 seconds, then stir until smooth.
- Spread the chocolate mixture evenly over the cereal mixture, then place in the refrigerater for at least 20 minutes or until cool before cutting.
Serve with a tall glass of milk and enjoy!

Oh I am so excited for the Honey Nut Cheerios and Lucky Charms! I was diagnosed about 10 years ago now with Celiac Disease, and am so excited for all the cereals!
