Madeline Chocolate Company: Make These The Sweetest Holidays Ever!

While much focus is on gifts, we can’t forget another fun tradition, the stockings!  I can remember as a child having a Hanukkah stocking and looking forward to finding out what was inside just as much as I wanted to open those colorfully wrapped gifts.

Finding the perfect treat is easy as their website is divided into specific holidays so you can quickly find what you are seeking.  Since my family celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas, the Madeline Chocolate Company generously sent me some chocolates from both collections.

They have a great selection of Hanukkah chocolates including Silver Coins, Blue and Silver stars, traditional Hanukkah gelt, and even Blue and White Chocolate Malt Milk Balls.

My personal favorite is the Chanukah Disks which are solid milk chocolate disks that are wrapped in colorful Italian foils. The foil wrappers are decorated with various Hanukkah designs such as dreidels, menorahs, Star of David’s, and the Hebrew letters for Hanukkah.

They are approximately 2” in diameter and about 3/16” in width. Of course, for the purpose of review only I had to try one to make sure they passed my taste inspection! The verdict? As soon as I opened the foil I could smell the rich chocolate aroma.  The disk was smooth except for a pattern of raised dots around the outside edge. It had a rich milk chocolate taste that practically melts in your mouth!  Delicious!

Their Christmas selection is huge!  Everything from milk chocolate balls to solid chocolate Santa ornaments, bells, stars cute keepsake boxes filled with chocolates and gift sets such as their Christmas Mint Truffle Gift Box.  After much deliberation and mind-changing, I choose the incredibly cute Snowman Giftable.

This cute keepsake is a clear plastic container stuffed full of caramel-filled milk chocolate balls.  Both the bottom and top of the container have white cardboard ‘lids’ with blue snowflakes, and the top lid has a cute snowman’s head with a scarf and matching knit cap.  There are about 16 little foil-wrapped caramel-filled chocolate balls inside the container, each wrapper decorated with a snowman’s head.

Again, strictly for the purpose of review, I was obligated to sample the product.  My verdict?  Once unwrapped, the small almost egg-shaped chocolate had a wonderful aroma, and its smooth surface had a pattern of lines radiating out from the center.  Hard on the outside, the sweet milk chocolate is filled with creamy, buttery caramel.  Absolutely delectable!  This is perfect for a stocking stuffer or a small gift, and the leftover container can be used year after year as a decoration, centerpiece, or candy bowl!
