Rhino Shield Impact Resistant Screen Protector Review ~ Powerful Protection!

Today a simple cell phone can do so much and therefore cost so much! It seems like the more the phone can do, the more money it costs. Naturally, you want to protect your investment, from the body of the phone to the touchscreen. After all, there is nothing worse than having a brand new phone with a bunch of scratches, or worse, cracks in the shiny screen. Thankfully, there are plenty of rugged and durable protective cases you can wrap your phone in to protect it from falls, but wouldn’t it be nice if there was a screen protector that was just as rugged? Well guess what? There is! It is called the Rhino Shield, and I had the opportunity to try one for myself.

Sure there are plenty of screen protectors that protect your screen from scratches, but the Rhino Shield, by Evolutive Labs, is made to not only protect your screen from scratches, but to also protect it from shocks and impacts which cause your screen to crack or shatter! The secret? A specially designed shock-damping layer that is able to take at least 5 times the impact energy of Gorilla Glass 2 on its own thanks to a unique polymer technology.

Need some proof? Check out this video!

Now I can’t say I took a hammer to my phone as they do in the video, but I did subject it to common everyday wear and tear such as tossing it in my purse where it moves around with loose change, pens, keys and a bunch of other stuff. After two weeks of being tossed into my purse or shoved in a pocket, and two heart-stopping accidental drops (one of which landed on the concrete face down) the Rhino Shield has lived up to its name in that there is not a scratch in site nor any cracks or fractures!

Now, you would think that something that can resist impact such as this would be much thicker than a regular screen protector but it’s not. In fact, the Rhino Shield is only 0.029 cm thick – as thin as 3 sheets of printer paper – and will not effect the way your phone fits in its protective case. It is just as transparent as any other screen protector, if not clearer;  and don’t worry about the Rhino Shield having any effect on the responsiveness of the touchscreen, mine is just as responsive to my touch as it was when I had no screen protector on it at all. There is also an Oleophobic coating which keeps the Rhino Shield free from fingerprint smudges by repelling the oil in your fingers, while remaining silky smooth to the touch. Honestly though, I do see fingerprints on mine, yet they are not ‘cloudy’ like the ones on other screen protectors or a bare screen appear. Plus, they are much easier to wipe off.

Installation of your Rhino Shield is a breeze. Everything you need comes with the screen protector including a microfiber cloth to wipe your screen, two “stickers” for removing dust particles, and a small squeegee to help you remove any air bubbles (of which there are very, very few) and ensure a secure seal. The directions are clear and concise, and the whole process takes maybe 5 minutes. Having the squeegee also makes a huge difference! My husband did mine so I could take pictures, and using the squeegee, it only took him one try to line everything up and put the protector on perfectly! Plus, if you do need to realign while installing, there is none of that sticky residue goop that gets left on your screen like many screen protectors leave.

The Rhino Shield is available for iPhone, Google Nexus, Samsung, HTC, Sony and Blackberry. You can find a complete list of supported devices on the products page of their website under the Rhino Shield for Phones tab. You can order yours directly through the website, as well as on Amazon.com. Keep in mind they also make Rhino Shield screen protectors for small and large tablets!

If you are looking for a sure-fire way to protect your phone’s screen, I definitely recommend the Rhino Shield!

I'd LOVE to try this out for myself & ESPECIALLY my brother Jesse!! I KNOW he'd DEFINETELY fall in love with this product! He works as a cabinet maker and daily is where there's SO much saw dust & he sweats like you wouldn't believe! His phone is usually in his pocket & he's told me so many times how he's dropped it and it's almost fallen onto the table saw and to the concrete floor of their shop. I think this would help save his phone from getting destroyed as I'm sure it will & SOON without this "Rhino Shield"!

Oh I would love to try this out on my daughters phone. She drops her phone all the time and I have brought I don't know how many phone cases and screen protectors for her. Thanks for sharing this!

This is worth it's weight in gold. My devices have so many scratches due to my 4 yr old. He doesn't seem to understand why he can't treat my phone like a football. I'm going to pick up a couple of these.
