Through Simbi, they are bringing clean water and sustainable jobs to Haiti, working to improve the lives of Haitian women and their families, and changing the way the world perceives Haiti by replacing some of the negative news with positive change.
In Haitian, Simbi is a protective water spirit, a fitting name for these accessories as each one sold represents one gallon of purified water a day, and creates jobs for the people of Haiti. In addition, Simbi’s team has also created the “Aqua Haiti” foundation to facilitate the purchase additional water filtration systems that are being distributed for long term benefits. To date, over 10 million gallons have been purified helping to eradicate diseases borne from unfiltered water.
Simbi has two collections, Simbi Hair and Simbi Fashion. The Simbi Fashion collection features clothing that is simple, yet elegant. Made from pure cottons and ultra soft linens, the clothes for both men and women are not only extremely comfortable, they are also eco-friendly. The hand embroidered clothing is designed to be a high-end quality craft that incorporates both the local tradition and culture of Haiti. Another of my favorites are their Clay Bracelets. These beautiful, uni-sex bracelets are created from natural resources found in the Haitian mountains. Each bead is hand rolled, then baked and painted, before being strung into a bracelet, making these stylish bracelets eco-friendly, biodegradable, and completely unique.
Simbi Clay Bracelets are available in several fabulous colors and come in your choice of large charm, small charm or beaded tassel. The small charms come with two on each bracelet, while the large ones (shown here) come with the Simbi logo and one of five assorted charms saying: Peace, Water, Hope, Love, and H2O.
