Those of you who regularly read my blog know that I love monthly subscription boxes! And there are so many out there today, for babies, men, women ,pets, food, beauty products, jewelry and more. I recently had the opportunity to try one I had been wanting to try for a while now, the monthly subscription box from Wantable.com.
Wantable.com is a bit different from the majority of monthly subscription boxes in that you can choose from two different boxes, Make Up (cosmetics and beauty products) or Accessories (fashion jewelry and accessories). While it is on the pricier side of subscription boxes, $36 a month or $40 for a one time purchase, they do send full size products which are hand-picked for you based on your personal taste. You get to customize your selection so you get the style items you want and not the ones you don’t. Since I have tried several beauty product and make up boxes, I decided to try of their Accessory boxes.
Signing up is quick and easy. First you choose whether you want the Make Up or the Accessory box. Then you run through a short series of questions to help determine your personal style and your likes and dislikes. Once you finish that, you choose whether you want to receive the box just one time, or sign up for a monthly subscription. If you decide to go with a monthly subscription you have the option to skip or cancel at any time. After you fill in your shipping and billing information, all that is left is to sit back and wait for your box to arrive.
When you sign up for the Make Up box you can expect to receive 4 to 6 full-size premium makeup products hand-picked to fit your style. The Accessory boxes will contain 3 or 4 boutique jewelry pieces that are also hand-picked based on your preferences. And if you are not completely in love with your box, just return it for a full refund, no questions asked!
Once I placed my order, it did not take long at all for my box to arrive. Boxes are shipped each month based on when you placed your original order. Mine arrived within a week of my ordering it. When I first opened the box I saw it was filled with black confetti, and had three pieces of jewelry along with a list that details each piece including the retail cost and styling tips. The jewelry was attached to a picture of a model and packaged in individual clear plastic bags. My box included one necklace and two pairs of earrings.
Thalia Necklace $32
The first item I pulled out was a very unique necklace. It has four connected flowers attached to a chain which is actually a series of cobalt-blue metal square-shaped links. Each flower is made using different beads and stones. The entire necklace comes down a bit below my collarbone, and is not very heavy. It is perfect for casual wear and adds a fun bit of flair to everyday clothes.
Coraline Earrings $24
Next I found a pair of art deco-style earrings with emerald and onyx-colored stones in a gold-colored setting. While they are a bit heavy, they by no means are so heavy that they stretch your ear lobes. They are another fun piece of fashion jewelry that can be worn with casual clothes, and maybe even worn with a casual-dressy outfit.
Raina Earrings $24
The third piece of jewelry is another pair of earrings. These are simple yet pretty gold-colored hoops that have amethyst-colored stones wrapped in gold-colored wire dangling down. These are actually my favorite earrings out of the two, and are very light weight. These earrings can easily be worn with casual or dressy outfits.
My Verdict
August’s Accessory Box has a total value of $80, and you would have only paid $36 to $40. Out of all three items I’d have to say my favorite are the gold hoop earrings. The art deco ones are a bit big for my taste, and while the necklace is fun and whimsical, it is better suited to college or high school age girls in my opinion. The quality is pretty good for fashion jewelry, sort of what you would find at an accessory store in the mall, but with a lot more of a unique style. As I mentioned earlier, if you get a box you are not happy with, you can simply return it for a full refund!
Overall I think Wantable.com is definitely onto something. I love that you have the option to pick either fashion jewelry or beauty products, and that they give a “style” quiz to help pick what is suited to your personal taste. And if you want to switch things up, you can always retake the quiz to try something new. I was also happy to see that they send full size products as opposed to samples. Next time though, I definitely want to give their make up box a try!

If there's a time when I can do this for my girls, I will.
